My first day in Zanzibar, a man on the street said What are you looking for? I told him I needed a SIM card, so he took me to Kombeni Tours. They seemed like nice people. They sold me a SIM card and 5GB 30-day data plan for 45,000 shillings (about US $20). After 2 days it stopped working, probably because they never registered the card. They seem to think its funny to scam tourists out of their hard-earned money.

Ishi is the only guide in Zanzibar I trust. He has good connections and prices. You might be able to find some beach boys in Stone Town with lower prices but you wont find a better value.Ishi is a very cool guy and has great English. He can help you with anything you want to do on the island.

Ishi organized for us a snorkeling tour that was amazing! we had a slight delay due to the taxi driver, and when we spoke to Ishi about this he compensated us giving us a free ride to the airport -> excellent customer service!Ishi is very professional, but also friendly and helpful and he quickly became our coolest friend during our Zanzibar stay :)
