Very wide choice of souvenirs, a/c which cools you down during hot day and clean toilets. So despite the fact it is a souvenir shop, i think it is good to spend there few minutes and maybe buy something. Just as we did and afterwards we hit hot streets of Stone Town.

This was a clean air conditioned shop in the middle of stone town .the prices are fixed so dont need to haggle....but you do pay a premium. We bought 2 bowls and a large wooden serving platter....wrapped up well for transport home and served by polite staff .good shopping well worth the visit .

Prices are extremely high for even South African standards. Most of the things are not quite Zanzibar made but either Chinese ( plastic magnets and plush toys) or Zim made wooden goods, which you can get them for half the price in Rosebank flea market. The tanzanite jewels are double international prices per carat, so its prob cheaper to buy it in your own country. Place is nice with aircon and so on, but mostly rip off. If you got deep pockets, shop here.
