Your Zanzibar trip is not complete without a visit to this fabulous place also popularly known as Forodhani or Furde as south asian community call it. People are super kind. The food is freshly made in front of your eyes, very delicious and lots of varieties. The evenings are the best time to visit for the great ambience and lively environment. One can enjoy the local Zanzibari cuisine and delicacies here with their friends and family including children. There is also a children play area for young kids.
Great place to visit from 6 in the evening. You get to enjoy Zanzibari food from vendors while enjoying the ocean and Zanzibar habour scenery
I would just like to ask everyone to be extra cautious with what is happening to the Forodhani market. This is an open-air food market right in front of the Old Fort and right by the sea which operates from 18:00 to 23:00. There have been several incidents where sellers tried to charge tourists with crazy amounts of money, so you should ALWAYS ASK FOR THE PRICELIST BEFORE YOU TALK TO THEM FURTHER. Each bench has a pricelist but they hide it under the table so that they can charge you whatever they want. They will try to put a plastic plate on your hands and then put staff on it, and then they will say ok let me warm them up for you and in no time you have already ordered without you even noticing. Then they bring you back the plate and they ask you to pay an enormous amount of money. So, be careful: DONT EVEN TALK TO THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOOK AT THE PRICELIST. The prices you will see there are still high comparing to the rest of the island, but then it will be up to you whether to buy something or not.
A place with loads of shade while you walk through Stone Town, full with locals enjoying the pole pole way... relax a while and continue walking...
Nice park, be careful with the nightmarket though there are scammers trying to give you bad food or make you pay an insane amount of money after eating, so always ask for the menu and check if its freshly grilled
Happy people nice food but no Dustbin for dust...
Best place I have ever been
Variety of street foods and Zanzibarian hospitality..good place for tourism
Under rehabilitation.............not worth it
Mesmerizing place in zanzibar
This is good garden
Well come zanzibar
My kids had a lot of fun at the playground here! Be prepared to pay a small entry fee.
Nice seaside park. Cooling wind in the middle of a hot day, large trees provide shade. Traders will continue all kinds of travel for tourists.
Avoid the evening, you are accosted by 3 people at the same time to eat on their stands. And clearly, this is a scam. Prices are announced after eating. 28000tzs for a carb skewer, a samossa and a piece of breadfruit, not that great! Better to go to a real restaurant for the same price and eat well there.
