My child has really enjoyed coming to British School of Zanzibar because the teachers are really nice and they make her happy. She also thinks the dinner ladies are kind and the cooks always make sure she is OK – thank you!

We have seen positive changes in the school culture, and an improvement in educational focus over recent years – pupils seem to be more engaged in general, and the teaching staff seem to be challenging pupils more effectively (and to be enjoying their work more!).

Greetings,After a visit at the owners resort and came across his head teacher, I decided to visit the schoolI must say I am more than a little disappointed. They are charging a great deal of money and the quality of education is nothing more than a government school. The text books are outdated and from as early as 2005. The admin staff say the school is an ngo, however, they charge school fees and charge for everything. We did a tour and the toilets just like his resort are not clean and I saw kids running in and out without washing their hands. When we visited it was lunch time or about lunch time. The entrance leading into the kitchen and cafeteria smelled of spoiled meat. One of the staff passed by holding their noses. So, though I must admit I’m a bit hurt and disappointed by seeing kids in such cramped conditions to eat. This school must function off of a failed system. And its interesting to see that the profile pictures of those who wrote positive reviews are people who are on the staff. What a scam all around.
