Very nice historical place, but the government should give it a chance to rebuild and Put more efforts to attract the tourists. I highly recommend tourists to visited this palace specially the fisher man area where they are building and fixing their ships and dhow. We took a lot of beautiful photos. The historical Dhow their touched my heart ❤️ and I really believe that you can’t find authentic historical place like it. بالعربي: المكان قديم لي درجة انكم تحسون باصاله المكان خصوصا اذا كنتوا اهل بحر و مرتبطين بماضى الأجداد 🥰

The history of this place, and it still looks like a good location for a park, I seriously think the Government should give that a go, re make the pools and keep it clean then raise the entrance fee..

The ruins have not been improved or renovated. You can take that as a plus or a minus.

Impressive ruins of 19th century palace.the pillars of aqueduct that used to pump water to the baths conveys the luxury of life on this island.they followed the Roman style for aqueduct and Persian style for baths. Its also a reminder that vanities of the world are transient on the planet and dont waste your valuable life on the pleasures like this.

There are many palaces on the Zanzibar coast over a distance of 5km from Zanjibar towards north towards Bububu. Noteworthy are the Marihubi Palace ruins historical sites and Mtoni Palace ruins. As you move 4km north of Zanzibar town one reach the Maruhubi Palace located overlooking the coast. Built between 1880 and 1882 for Sultan Said Barghash for his secondary wives while he lived at the Palace in Zanzibar Town. The palace gets the name from the original owner of the land who sold it to Sultan Barghash. Coral stone and wood were used to build the Marihubi Palace and was one of the most beautiful structure on the island, which later distroyed by a fire and left in ruins. The photo of the palace taken at the end of the 19th century housed at the House of Wonders in Zanzibar Town, depicts its past glory. What now remains is massive stone pillars, the Persian-style bathhouses, a low stone basin containing water lilies and undulating lawns.Come to Zanzibar. Reach Maruhubi Palace ruins Historical Sites and take a stroll through the history of this once magnificent place. The Maruhubi and Mtoni Palace ruins are a quiet peaceful places for a picnic away from the bustle of Stone Town and a place to wade through the history of Zanzibar. Good luck.

Definitely worth a visit! This is a UNESCO monument. Paid entrance. In February 2021 - 5000 local money (about 150 rubles). This amount includes a wonderful guided tour in English.Museum employee Mubarak told us about what the palace was like before the fire, showed us photographs, the remains of stairs, fragments of matured finishing of Italian marble and other details. He told about the life of the palace: where were the magnificent receptions, in which part the Sultans concubines lived and what their life was like. As in the aquiduct, water came to the pools, baths, toilets of the palace, how the communication system was arranged. If you like to train your imagination looking at the ruins of bygone eras, be sure to visit this museum! You can probably get there by some kind of transport. But we got from Stone Town on foot - there are only 5 kilometers.

It was a beautiful palace, burned down and was abandoned, it is interesting to walk there, look at the baths, four outdoor swimming pools or reservoirs, it is no longer understandable, it is worth visiting and touching the history

It is a pity that such places are not being restored in Zanzibar, they are in ruins. In Europe, they would have already conducted excursions. And so, of course, you can call in. But dont wait for the supernatural
