We rented last minute a scooter. The communication was friendly, quick and easy. The scooter was droped of at the hotel in the middle of Stonetown and picked up at the airport as we requested. Also posible to extend the rental with a day. Everything was perfect, thank you mr. Van!

I had a very good experience renting bikes from Van-Tawao. Ive rented twice with no issues, very good customer service and very friendly. Bikes are fast and easy to drive, recommend anytime 😃

Bad experience. IM NOT RECOMMEND TO MAKE DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.We rented a scooter on November 2020. We rented for a one week and got the discount. It was the only one positive thing which was related to rent.Firstly driver was late on 1.5 hour for the time we agreed, what was ruined our plans for the first day.Next, when you drive around Zanzibar, be ready, that almost every police officer would stop you for checking documents. After the first stop, it turned out that the scooter had expired insurance. We waited approx. 40 minutes till the driver brought a new insurance.A few days later, during a new trip, we were stopped by another patrol and asked for a drivers license and a permit. It turned out that you cant ride a category B scooter on the island. You only need A. When I asked the tenant before our trip about the need for category A, I was assured that category B was enough in Zanzibar, what was a lie. Corrupt rats held us for about 45 minutes, all the while hinting at a bribe. As a result -20000 shillings in our pockets and problems with the police.What about scooter, the bike squeaks all the time, the speedometer did not work and the rear brakes almost didnt work too.As a result after renting: delay, expired insurance, problem with a permit, faulty scooter.Better find another company for renting. Or if there wouldnt alternative be careful with all the points I mentioned above.

A couple of friends and I rented 2 XLR 250s from Van for three days to go riding around Zanzibar .. very decent bikes, they looked a bit beat up but they ran perfectly. Great service, they were there on time, all paperwork very smooth and a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Excellent service Amazing scooters! My girlfriend and I went during the summer and were amazed at all the choices of scooters. They ran very well and were super fun to drive. It’s a great way to see the city. The owner made sure we were comfortable riding a scooter before we took it out. He even gave us a free complimentary drink (orange juice). Great service.

Van waited for me as soon as I arrived at zanzibar airport and waited for me when I dropped it back off at the airport. Zero issues with the scooter they even gave me two helmets which was handy if someo e from my accomodation wanted a ride somewhere as well. Highly recommend!

It was a very quick response and I was able to rent a motorcycle overwhelmingly cheaper than other companies. Persistent negotiations are required, but in my case it was a total of $ 25 for 15 temporary permit 10 per day.The motorcycle was about 125cc.
