Most beautiful mosque in Zanzibar, constructed by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Taimun Al Said. The architecture of the building is on another level.The mosque is so clean with lot of staff employed to take care of it and is fully financed by Omani Government via its Embassy in Zanzibar.Words cannot describe how beautiful the Mosque is, just go and see it by yourself.

Jamia Zinjbar/Masjid Sultan Qaboos was built by the late Sultan Qaboos Bin Said of Oman from his personal wealth as a gift to Zanzibar and its people and in an effort to strengthen the historic ties between Oman and Zanzibar. Its probably the largest Mosque in the whole of East Africa and is very luxuriously built. It has a sizeable Womens area of prayers as well as Islamic classes or Madrasa. The Masjid is located far from the Historic UN heritage site Stone Town but its worth a visit and I would definitely recommend anyone to go and visit this beautiful Mosque and have a peaceful time in there. There is also an almost unnecessarily huge parking space in the mosque compound. The architecture of the Mosque resembles a lot of Omani Mosques as you would expect.
