This tour was fantastic and a great way to get to know Zanzibar and the spices grown here. Lutfia and the rest of the guides at the spice farm were all very friendly, knowledgable, and welcoming. It was great being able to purchase the ingredients fresh from the market and support local shops. Being able to taste the different spices and fruits directly on the farm was very cool.Unfortunately, one of the people in our party was hit with some heat stroke and we had to leave before we could do the cooking class. Lutfia was very accommodating, helping us arrange transportation back early and offering for us to come back for the cooking class (we couldnt due to our schedule).I would definitely recommend taking this tour!
This was one of the coolest things we did while staying on Zanzibar. We have been travelling the world visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites and this quest is what took us to Zanzibar - to visit “Stone Town of Zanzibar” from the Inscribed list and the “Jozani-Chwaka Bay Biosphere Reserve” from the waiting list.During our time in Stone Town we signed up for this cooking class. We met up with Lutfia outside our hotel in Stone Town. From there we started a fantastic journey that took us through the Central Market to buy ingredients, on a local bus to the outside of Zanzibar City and via a Spice Farm to her family’s house in the Dole Village. There, over the next couple of hours, we prepared the loveliest of Zanzibari/Swahili food on the floor, over the fire, just like she normally would do for her family. This was by far the best meal we had during our stay on the island. The food and preparations apart, this is such a great way of getting insight into how local life is and to actually meet locals!Lutfia is simply awesome, we could not recommend this activity more!
Amazing experience with Lutfia. Learned a lot about local food and spices. Really interesting. Lutfia is super kind and cooks incredibly good. She is also a very good teacher :)
Amazing time with Lutfia today. We went to the market to buy ingredients, followed by a spice market tour, followed by a cooking lesson with Lutfia. The food was genuinely the best Ive had since being in Tanzania. Lutfia is warm and friendly and super informative. We had a great day with her!
I and my husband did a 4 hours spice tour and cooking class. The class was conducted in Lutfia house, was so professional and I can say this activity was memorable to both of us as we learned Zanzibar dishes and their way of cooking. I recommend to do this while you are in Zanzibar with Lutfia.
Cooking class experiance was amaizing with Lutfia, looking foward to meet you again for the new recipyAsante sana😊
Delightful experience of cooking class with Luftia! We started with shopping fresh vegetables, fish and spices at the market then we prepared a tasty and flavorful lunch at her place. We spent a very lovely day at Zanzibar Traditional Cooking Class. Brava Luftia!

Thank you for this memorable experience. If you want to have a great day, I recommend this cooking class (you will also have the right to a market tour, a guided visit to a spice farm and transport included). Hakuna Matata!
