Lyamungo Secondary School is one of the oldest Government Secondary Schools in Tanzania. It was inaugurated by the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere in 1962.It was built by funds obtained through the sale of coffee by the KNCU a coffee plant cooperative union in Kilimanjaro.Currently, the school was given a large sum of money for renovations which returned the school into its former glory.More than 700 students go here.
