This is the most perfect resort located on the most beautiful island with the friendliest people. It takes an extra couple hours to get there from Zanzibar but I could not recommend making the trip more. It is so much more low key and beautiful than Zanzibar with no one hassling you on the beach. The architecture and level of finishes in the whole resort is impeccable and the best I’ve seen. They make the excursions so easy and affordable and I cannot recommend this place more. This is pure luxury in the middle of paradise. The food was incredible every single time too. We had a fantastic 3 week honeymoon and our stay here was the highlight of it.

Best experience ever! Wonderful location, great villas, perfect service. Using local ressources makes the resort very sustainable and still luxurious. Great food, especially the daily fresh fish and the local chicken. Phillip Dupont has assembled the most friendly and helpful staff, the ten days we spent at Aiyana were pure joy- highly recommended!PS: Afro divers nearby provide perfect diving opportunities, pick-up by boat or car went very smoothly, Pemba is a great place for diving

From the moment we arrived at the airport in Pemba, we were so well cared for by The Aiyana staff. The General Manager Philippe went above and beyond to make sure we had the most magical honeymoon and his staff were so lovely and attentive. We were treated to romantic dinners on the beach, a sunset cruise and a stunning room upgrade. The food and drink choices were spectacular and you couldn’t get a more beautiful beachfront location. The only bad part of our six nights there was leaving. We can’t wait to get back to The Aiyana in the future.

The hotel itself is quite spectacular, rooms and common areas are beautifully designed and Instagram worthy:) The staff are extremely helpful and funny and James behind the bar will make sure to double up the alcohol you ordered.Unfortunately, there were problems with hot water in our villa for the duration of our stay and the fitness centre is pretty much non-existent (thats why its only 4* for me rather than 5).All in all is a great all inclusive experience:)

A kind of colonialist hotel which hardly respects direct environment. An ugly array of cement buildings with no linkups to swahili culture. Here the concept of travel is down, as having a flatscreen is far from what you can expect on a beautiful island as Pemba... fortunately, staff is nice but this is one of the Pembans quality... a place to run away from...

I had a wonderful2 weeks stay at the Aiyana , It was a very peaceful.and beautiful place , I loved the Architecture and the landscaped garden , our villa was was well equipped and with a swimming pool and an outside shower . the service was excellent almost personal ... The Aiyana a Staff made sure that we were comfortable and saw to all our needs at all time during our stay. The food was fresh grown and cultivated in and around the villages..... And also we enjoyed a lot of sea food freely caught on daily basis.. We had outings to the villages which was awesome , a place that is untouched by civilisation . We visited the Mangrove and the sandbank where we had a beautiful lunch with a beautiful glass of wine. The whole place seems to mingle with the sea , a pleasure to eat at the open restaurant , and a drink in the evening at bar under the glittering stars and the moon. The spa was an exotic experience . we met the owner who is a very talented but humble Gentleman . He made sure that he greeted us , to welcome us to his Hotel. We felt like being home . Our last night was made very special for us , we had a. Romantic dinner on the beach ... We were escorted tour table and the path we walked on were laced with flower petals, made us feel very special. This is definetely a place we will visit in the near future

Definitely worth the visit to this little paradise. Takes a 30 min plane from zanzibar and an hour and half taxi ride from the airport. But trust me when you reach you will understand why I would strongly recommend the trip. Staff including the manager are friendly and welcoming. The food was also amazing. The beach is also beautiful especially on high tide with no beach boys trying to sell you things.

Thank you, Aiyana Team for the great experience! Philippe and staff made our stay here wonderful. This place is paradise from the architecture, healthy and local food, turkise water, sunsets, pretty flours and comfortable villas! But what‘s even more imporant: The Hotel supports the village: 70% of the employees are directly from the island and with your stay at the Aiyana you contribute to schools, water pumps and ocean protection. Also, the beach is public, so Pemba residents can use it as well, which is great.

The challenge is to find what is wrong! And even by looking well, difficult to find…. Perhaps bikes made available to visit the surrounding villages and forest ...The place is idyllic, the beach wonderful, the sunset every evening with a cocktail in the infinity pool is unforgettable. The villas, nestled in the gigantic garden, all with sea view terrace, are perfect. Large en-suite bedroom with living room, huge bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower!Philippe the manager, his wife, and his team take great care. Staff always present, but discreet and friendly. Hearty breakfasts. Very good restaurant. No unwanted music on the beach, no jet ski, nothing disturbs the tranquility of the place.A haven of peace.

A haven of peace. We spent two nights (far too short !!) in paradise, in an exceptional suite: two magnificent rooms overlooking the sea and the private swimming pool (huge !!! You can swim 10 fathoms). The hotel is incredibly beautiful. We are in a lush garden, where everything is meticulously thought out. The hotel manager will take care of your stay to be as incredible as possible, as will his team. Everything was really great. A huge thank you for this stay which will remain forever engraved.

We tried this restaurant one evening for the experience between several local restaurants. The dishes were hearty and successful, we ate well and drank original cocktails. The staff at this hotel are lovely, special thanks to Toza who accompanied us on the motorbike from the hotel. On the other hand, the architecture and the size imposed by this hotel in this magnificent region of Pemba is really sad. Between Manta Reef and Aiyana, the beach deserves to be left to the locals.

I stayed in the summer of 2018. It takes about an hour and a half from the airport, but the surrounding area is quiet, and the beach in front of the hotel changes its expression depending on the difference in tides. Although it was a plan with breakfast and dinner, it was almost all inclusive and there was not much local expenses. The rooms are small in size and offer direct access to the beach. Riding on the invitation of the local people who come to the beach, but went to a sand bank in the dhow, clear waters, white sandy beach also spread far, and was the best asked to prepare until the homely meals and beer. At night you can look at the starry sky.
