The best seafood we ate on Zanzibar island! Delicious lobster, grilled fish and the most tasty octopus we’ve ever eaten. Everything is really fresh. Each main dish is served with refreshing salad made of local vegetables. The place is cozy and run by the loveliest chef Shadil who together with his team will make you feel like at home and host you with kindness!
Best restaurant on Zanzibar for us. We went there yesterday for dinner and came back today :) Local and super delicious food (try the tuna tartar as a starter!!!), super friendly waiter and fair prices! Octopus, beef masala, chicken masala and whole fish were amazing. Even the fries and the dips were handmade, fresh and just super tasty. We will come back!
This place is a bit remote from the beach, but definitely worth a visit compared to beach restaurants. The food was absolutely superb. We had a fish masala curry and a grilled octopus with tomato sauce. Both were delicious. The octopus was tender and perfectly cooked. We ordered that after recommendation from the chef, and were more than happy.
What a beautiful experience! The food and drinks at this place were exceptional, with great service also. Everything we ordered was divine!! We ordered tuna tartar and avocado salad to start and Steak and mash, lobster and chicken curry for mains.We are here for 10 days and will be returning to work our way through the menu. Im going to exercise now and make my way there for breakfast which is served 7am-11am. I cannot wait!! Compliments to the chef - dont change a thing, its working perfectly👌🏾
The best see food restaurant in Zanzibar 👍🏼with low price, food is sooooo fresh & delicious.. the lobster was big & tasty , octopus very well cooked and tender , the fish just came out of the see, even the chips was fresh & home made , they have this mango spicy 🌶 sauce I’m addicted to it 😀 .. people working their are so nice and helpful.. I stayed 8 days I eat their every day ♥️♥️Thanks Amir & Shaikh we’ll miss you🌸
Absolutely wonderful experience 😊 as all the above have already said, the place is rather quiet. My food arrived quickly and they even prepared something for me that was neither on the regular nor the special menu of the day (I ordered a seafood curry). The food was DELICIOUS and - what was totally unexpected - hot. When you’re used to eating out at the beach the wind blows onto your food and it gets cold in no time, but here it was served fresh and hot and stayed that way! The service (Ameir!) was also very friendly and polite.I can definitely recommend this little gem of a restaurant.
We were a group of 8 and had a wonderful evening.Great service, super delicious food (recommend the tuna and the mango avocado salad). Vegetabe tempura was also especially tasty.It’s off the beaten track, but that’s a good thing! Owner used to cook in various hotels but decided to open up his own shop- show him some love. The experience deserves it.
Best place I ate in Zanzibar.Everything was great, the staff was really helpful, always with a smile.We came here twice, had the best grilled lobster of my life, tender and juicy, asked it with mashed potatoes, it was served with a sauce for the mashed potatoes which was amazing.We had a dessert, banana frita (fried bananas), which was amazing.On top of this, it was cheap.The menu is mainly seafood and fish, we tried several different dishes and everything was really good.
Super tasty 🤤👌We discovered this hidden gem on our last night in Paje, what a pleasant surprise! The dishes were absolutely delicous and ultra fresh - all made on the spot. We shared the amazing spring rolls as a starter, accompanied with a fresh little salad, then followed for myself by tikka massala vegetables and a rice topped with outstanding caramelized vegetables, and for my husband - a grilled king fish with tasty chips (just as my grandmother used to make them - miam!!) and another litlle salad. I also had a yummy pineapple and passion fruit smoothie - big thumbs up!The chef is very friendly and open-minded, and cooks with all his heart. He would make suggestions according to your preferences, even for dishes outside of the menu - just to make sure that youve had the best meal possible🤤 and the waitress - Sam - a real ray of sunshine ☀️The restaurant opened barely 6 months ago, definitely to follow up - a must try if around!
I traveled a lot around the Island Zanzibar and I can say it is one of the best and tasty restaurant I ever been. Lovely serving, huge portions and very very tasty kitchen with friendly price. Every dish i tried was just amazing. Thanks to the chief and beautiful girl named Someheart. Wish you a lot of clients!
We ate shrimps and octopus, both was prepared just the way as it should be, the octopus was soft, the shrimp was cut in the perfect way to get out easily from it’s shells. Portion sizes are big and they used amazing harmonies of spices.
Big portions, good price, we ordered fish and calamari and I have never tasted better calamari in my life! Fiah was fresh and very well prepared as well. Definetly gonna eat again there. By 8 pm the place is full, so better be there earlier for dinner
This is the BEST restaurant in Paje! ( even in the whole Zanzibar) The Chef makes everything by scratch . He is the kindest and sweetest man ever! Everything is made with love !Menu changes often because he uses the freshest ingredients.There are plenty of Vegan options or if you tell the chef what you want. He will make it for you! Super incredible!My friend ate the seafood curry and she said it was the best seafood curry ever!Honestly, theres no place like Chamu!Dont wait just come and enjoy the local spices and the food .Opens breakfast lunch and dinner !I have been coming here for almost a week now. The flavors are so diverse! YUM!Best springs rolls , Best Samosas , Best Curry Dahl !Update : Vegan Pancakes and Falafels are delicious!! Also, you can buy fresh coconut milk from them !
The restaurant is a bit outside (like 5 minutes from the beach) but its totally worth it. The food was amazing, i took the Octopus which was fabulous. And its good to have the mashed potatoes, it changes from chips or rice. By far the best restaurant i tried in Zanzibar. The smiles and the warm welcome from the staff were really touching. Definitely a place to go.

I jumped with my friends, a group of italian people living in Tanzania since some months, on a dinner in this restaurant during our Zanzibar Holiday. Personally this has been the best meal since we left Italy: delicious food, cooked in brillant way - expecially the fish - really kind and fast in the service, extremely good quality/price ratio. Delicious food, octopus is awesome but not worth to get Sea Platter, better for the same price order of each one - you will get for the same money much more food and better served.

Very tasty and cleanly prepared food. I was amazed at the standard of the food in such a small restaurant, until I found out that the chef learned in the best restaurants in Zanzibar and has now opened his own restaurant. The spaghetti is very tasty, always aldente and my favorite, the fish plate with rice is a dream. I come almost every day to eat here. A small very nice and charming family business where father and mother prepare the food in the kitchen and the daughters serve in front. Very friendly and highly recommended.
The most delicious food Ive tried on Zanzibar and the atmosphere in this place is great. We had a pleasure dining there almost every night of our stay. Me and my group felt really welcomed there. the chef of this place would always come out and have a chat with us which made each visit extra special :) the individual approach to every single client make this place unique 💙 highly recommended :)

This place is a hidden gem! Its easily one of our favourite restaurants in Paje. The staff are very welcoming, the food is fresh and delicious, with generous portions. Their Calamari salad is a must try! Their Beef filet was also very tender and tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

I keep recommending this place to people because its just that good! The tuna tartare was the best we had on the island and the steak was definitely up there with the best prepared steaks weve had in the US or travelling. Really good prices as well. The steak dish was 18,000 tz and came with a heaping portion of mashed potatoes. Its about a five minute walk from the beach (I think theres a turn off closer to the Lecker Lecker restaurant if I remember correctly).Also, the chef/owner is a local and you can tell hes dedicated to great service!
