Well made turkish meat balls from quality meat but the lack of taste (spices) was a bit let down. Chips were crispy which you cannot say from every place in Zanzibar. Excellent view to the beach and friendly staff makes this one of my favourites in Nungwi.

The restaurant has a spectacular view of the sunset overlooking the clear blue waters. The food and drinks were great. I was having dinner alone and the manager (I suppose) was very keen to make sure I was comfortable and attended to. Great customer service. Would definitely go back when Im in Nungwi again.

Very good option for sunset and dinner. Right on the beach and has amazing views in the evening, but at the same time noone tries to sell you anything while youre eating. Interesting food with a Turkish twist. The staff was accomodating and nice. Recommended!

We waited 40+ minutes for our food. The sea food and veggie burger was very ok but the pasta less than basic and the ciç kebab was extremely well done that we had to return it cause it was hard to chew.

I love Istanbul, and not just the city which is in Turkey, but the nice restaurant/club on the beach that you can find in Nungwi, Zanzibar. If you vizit Zanzibar, you just cannot miss this place. I dare you to tell me if Im wrong!

Lovely spot hidden along the beach with lovely friendly staff, awesome food recommend the oven shrimps and Turkish kebab. Giant Coca-Cola served with our delicious meal. They serve great SA wines.

Not too crowded in out-of peak hours, but the food was expensive and little quantity. We ordered chicken shiskebab, but it was not enough to feel that we ate enough

I visited Nungwi from France, i tried many shisha lounges in Town but this one top all of them, very classy atmosphere, the shisha are Amazing, the owner is such a great host.. i Love this restaurant/ lounge so i came back many times after and recommended it to many of my friends. I highly recommend this place.

Everything was really good. We order Chicken curry, Mediterranean salad and lime pie.Coffee is also nice.The view is awesome

Tuesday’s and Friday’s they have a party. They have shisha and someGood food options by the beach . Every visit to Nungwi I visit here .

While waiting for the toilet I just witnessed our waiter come out of the mens bathroom after having a stinky number 2 and just waltzed out the bathroom without washing his hands. Would hate for him to handle my food afterwards. Will never return there. Disgusting!!

Well, we really appreciate our stay in this restaurant. Perfect to eat fresh seafood, the Chef did nice dishes for us. The manager Bato aka Ricky Martin was a super nice person. He made us feel like at home. The location of the restaurant give you the opportunity to have a beautiful view on the sea and you can enjoy the sunset there. This restaurant has been our crush of the day. For sure we will be back soon

Shrimps looked very sad (the photo was before I started eating) and were completely tasteless. Potato was decent. All in all, good place to get a beer with a view, but nothing more.The service was as sad as the shrimps

This is a great place to breathe after the crowds. The food was quite nice and I didnt understand why people call it bad. Clean space. The restaruant has taken on the pos device for the credit card.

If you want to experience Zanzibar nightlife, this is A PLACE! Everyone is dancing, great atmosphere.

Definitely there are better places to eat in Nungwi. Location and the view are superb, but portions are small and quite expensive.

For me it wasnt that bad. The fish burger was juicy and side salads were very new to me. Food was served in a short time.

We moved from another restaurant to Istanbul at 12:30 and are still here at the sunset. :-) Good kitchen. Nice stuff. Top music. Shisha. Good value and interesting cocktails. Sweetest babycat. 100% recommend.

Only came for a sunset drink so can’t comment on food. My fruit juice was ok but did not meet expectations raised in other places. View, however, was great!

The staff were very friendly..Food was more expensive than other local options and portions small. Toilets were filthy.

We spent a couple of days here enjoying their free sun beds on the beach whilst drinking some of their tasty cocktails and beers. Reasonable prices and beautiful setting. Toilets however were absolutely disgusting so we decided against eating there.

Warm people, serving you with smiling faces, very good place to view sunset, delicious creative cousine, including raw tuna and shrimp in the pot.

The food is terrible!! We ordered shrimps and the tuna. The fish came first and I got mine almost when my husband had finished his meal. Both dishes were dry and tasteless. The fries were soggy. We waited ages to get our meal. The Turkish owner or manager was just sitting at the counter smoking and collecting the cash.

Would highly recommend Istanbul restaurant, lovely welcoming owner that could not do enough for us along with his polite and friendly staff. Breakfast is AMAZING! And some of the biggest and best tapas we have tasted.It’s a must try when here in Zanzibar. 5 stars.

We just left the place and moved to a different restaurant.Our appearance at entrance left unnoticed. We sat inside the restaurant; few waitresses were moving up & down without approaching tables, two elderly guys inside the bar counter moved slowly to fix drinks orders. We observed few guests around looking to make their orders but no success.Not a single person even came to greet us or bring a menu. After 15 min we stood up and left. Nobody even noticed.We were surprised to read good comments. Maybe we came in wrong time?Terrible service. No big boards and advertisements can replace service.Can only advise to avoid Istanbul and go to one of many other nice restaurants on the beach.

Ordered the tuna steak and the calamari. Tuna was perfect, and the portion massive. Calamari was fried golden and was delicious. Served with 4 turkish sides (salads) Coke comes in a 350ml bottle. Beer was ice cold hard to find... total price came to TSH63000 which is very affordable. Manager was very friendly and honest about which food was best on the menu. Will definitely go back again.

Nice restaurant, nice surroundings But. Waiters were too bored and unpleasant. We didnt get a glass for a beer. We told them we want to pay but they came after 15 minut and nobody was there! They were talking with their friends. But food delicious.

Delicious breakfast at 1/4 the cost of all the big chain hotels near by. This is a mom & pop shop, where the owners run the place. They are very friendly and love to chat with their customers.

This place is a scam - don’t go there. The trip advisor rating is faked. The worst food we had during our week in Nungwi. The hamburger meat can be used as spread, squid is just fried / no salt, no species. Pizza is half baked, All dips tasted nothing etc, etc.Only good is the view - but it’s free on the beach so don’t waste your money and time on this place

The parties Tuesdays night are awesome!

It’s so many awesome restaurants on Nungwi beach. Avoid this place doesn’t matter what they will promise to you!They offered us 4 starters and glass of wine if we will order overpriced main course! We ordered 2 main courses. Two different one but ended up to be the same, It was hot pan full of oil a little veg and very oily bread. “The starters” came after the main, tomatoes salad and humus again with oil sitting on top. It was the most disgusting hummus that I ever tried. After all no other 2 starters and they wanted to charge us 20000tzs for the two small glasses of wine which should be free! They brought our bill without asking for it even when the restaurant was empty and we planned to have more drinks. No apology, no manners. Avoid this place!!!

Top 5 worst restaurants I’ve been to. Food tasted like nothing, the yoghurt in the sauces were room temperature, and the hamburgerpatty was like some kind of paste. We asked the staff to turn down the volume of the music (it was only 6pm) and they did, then they turned it up after about 5 minutes again.

Delicious food with good service, you will not regret visiting Istanbul Restaurant and bar.

If you are searching a place for good meal we wouldnt recommend to go there...for drinks ok beacuse of good position but the rest is awful

Half an our for making black coffee, that in the end wasnt even black, just regular freeze dried coffee. Desert was bad, very tasteless choise of ingridients and texture. Waitresses are lazy, twice brought only one spoon for two of us, no napkina no nothing. Conclusion: avoid this place, there are planty of good places with tasty food and good service. Waited 15 minuetes for our change when the place is practicly empty.

Cant talk about the food, just visited for a party on Friday: nice party, was full of people. 5000 tzs for the entrance. Doors open around 10pm, but it really starts swinging two hours later. DJs usually play popular music mixed with African, nice vibes, a lot of people, locals mingle with travellers, hookers and regular girls, hot crowded dancing around midnight. Four stars because their card paying thing seems dodgy. Conversion rate is good, but they use an app on their phone, where they write down everything from your card, including CVV security code.

The worst free in my life. And prawns. And salad. Waiters are nice. Nothing more to ad.

Me and my partner had an absolute blast here. We went on a Friday night and the music was great! We danced until the early hours of the morning!

Wow can things really be this bad?Yes is the answer.Trust is important in any business. But here it does not exist. The wazungu (white) people collect the money at one counter give you a laminated card for each drink, then the local Tanzanian staff serve the drinks. Is this real?????Apartheid is alive and well and in Nungwi.Been living in Africa a long time and never seen this before. If the staff are not trustworthy replace them or put in measures- video etc. Surely that’s the answer in any business but this “solution” is really not good. Avoid, avoid,avoid.If we go to these places we legitimise this behaviour.
