Very chilled place to relax and unwind. You get to disconnect from the world while getting high quality service from the host and staff. Has a pool also with great environment. The beach is also nearby so you can walk to and dine on a number of restaurants there.

I don’t know how this place has 4 stars! There’s no AC in the bungalows, which are tiny and what’s worse there are no WINDOWS. You can hear absolutely everything outside and SMELL everything too. I got woken up at 6.30 am in the morning by noisy staff (there’s staff headquarters right there so you can only imagine) and a lovely smell of trash burning. Fan stopped working too. Absolutely horrible when you are trying to have some sleep while on vacation. I stayed in other places in Nungwi before and this is one is absolutely the worst. They overcharge you so much!! I had ants all over my room too. I would never stay here and NEVER recommend it to anyone.

Place is a scam, with no air conditioning and bungalows with no proper windows: openings in the walls are secured with flimsy plastic net. Let alone the noises (you can hear every other guest within 1000 m), it doesnt feel safe at all as you are in ground floor, easily accessible by whoever may come around, while safety box is smaller than a shoe box. Room is cooled by fan that stops working frequently. To cheer you up there is army of ants and lizards roaming around the walls freely. Location is terrible, gate unsecured at night (unlocked & not watched) & road to accommodation is dodgy: dirt road thats lit only by the moon. No vibe, owner unobtainable for feedback. Absolutely terrible value for money if you compare standard in the area.

Very nice place, the bungalows are big and there is a fantastic pool that you can use day and night. The food its amazing and for breakfast you have buffet with variety of fruit and marmellate that you can choose. The owners are really nice and helpful. Recomended.

With a better food n drink menu this place will rock.plus the music is dull at times and ooh too much chlorine in the pool

The owner, self-reviewing her structure, defines it as a magical place where you can breathe the true spirit of Africa. Unfortunately for us this was not the case. I booked 11 nights at $ 85 a night at this property for the month of January well in advance and after a long and polite exchange of messages with the owner. The structure looks good on the outside, surrounded by a beautiful garden but unfortunately after the second night we ran away. We found ourselves in the room with lizards and cockroaches the second night, so much so that they changed our room, moving us to another one saturated with bug spray. In the morning we woke up with dead insects and other lizards in the room. Ok we are in Africa but paying 85 dollars for the protection measures are a must. The doors have cracks of half a centimeter (tomorrow I will bring the carpenter cit. La Proprietaria), the rooms have a ceiling fan that runs very slowly due to the low electrical voltage (government fault) the water came out at a few moments (Im going to check the pump) the minibar doesnt work (its not mentioned in the room offer).Knowing how to take responsibility is a sign of great professionalism, understanding the meaning of HOLIDAY when working in this sector means being an expert in the sector and not improvised. Our vacation is sweaty, deserved, and it would have been able to ruin it if we hadnt literally escaped to another structure close to the beach of Nungwi, where for 9 days we have not experienced even one of these problems and where we paid the exact half with double the services.We had also given a deposit equal to 30% and despite a credit of 115 dollars in our favor, the owner refunded us only 50 dollars, also considering that the second night we were moved from room at 11.45 pm, even the latter would not be considered enjoyed. , so our credit would be far greater.I do not recommend this structure, managed in an unprofessional way and saturated with improvisation, inviting you to read all the reviews.

Everything was perfect ! Carla and her team are very welcoming and warm. I even got a little surprise for my birthday!The hotel is very pleasant for spending good times with family or friends by the pool ...We had taken the family bungalow with my friends, everything was clean, spacious room. A hotel near the beach and Carla can also organize activities for you at reasonable prices.

Bad WiFi, power cuts out often, rooms are way too expensive, rooms only have an old fan, never again.

The Mawimbi Bungalows is simply an oasis of peace. It is about 3 minutes walk from the most beautiful beach in Nungwi. The owners, Bernardo and Carla, are two fabulous people: very nice and very helpful. The staff is very good: fantastic cocktails and delicious food, the best fish on the island. In the garden there is a swimming pool with umbrellas and sunbeds (which is very useful for the hottest periods of the day and for the evening). The dining area is spacious and always ventilated. The bungalows are cleaned daily and are very comfortable. Recently renovated, they offer a lot of privacy compared to common apartments. There are also very kind Masai security guards. The quality-price ratio is excellent. I would recommend the hotel to any kind of traveler.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The Village is characteristic and simple, comfortable and clean rooms every morning. A 5 minute walk away is Nungwi beach where there are bars and restaurants to go for both lunch and dinner, all very good! My boyfriend and I stayed there 10 days in August and we really enjoyed our time, an ideal vacation to relax.

Here nature reigns supreme with a garden full of plants and flowers, which make, together with the owner, a relaxing stay.

Carla and Bernard are wonderful people, ready to solve any problem, request and to provide sound advice. The hotel is cute, clean and the staff is really friendly. Linen changed every day. Absolutely recommended!

Nice place, but the deyanudo is not buffet. They serve you a dish and they give it to you, and not much to choose from.
