Campsite with a nice view of the crater! Hot water in the shower and generally clean bathrooms (squat and normal toilets). There is a chance of wild animals sleeping at the campsite at night (Monkeys, Buffalo, Zebra, sometimes Elephants).Unfortunately, they hosted a ranger training by the College of African Wildlife there the night we spent there with around 100 students. Instead of setting their tents up in a designated area, they basically circled our tent and did a drill at 1:15am waking everybody up without regards of other campers… That “kind of” ruined the stay for us
Great campsite overlooking the massive and beautiful Ngorongoro crater. The view is a little bit obstructed because of the dense foliage. This camp site also has access to boiling hot water and it felt absolutely amazing after a couple days of cold showers in the Serengeti. One side of the camp only has access to squat toilets but you can easily walk to the other toilets across the field.Keep in mind that this is still the wild so you might encounter some animals around the camp like zebras, jackals and buffalos. They might be very close to your tents but dont be startled. Welcome to the wild side of life.Tents are excellent and spacious and they even had a warm blanket ready for us as the mornings can be quite cold.Overall, nice camping site!
Nice camping with decent tents. Facilities look a little abandoned by staff but at least there is hot water.
Lovely camp site with a breathtaking view on the crater. It has warm shower and Wifi (very slow though).Beware there might be buffalos or zebras eating the grass around your tent during the night!!
This place is amazing animals roam right along side you tent, an elephant stormed our camp, armed guards keep u safe, great spot to spend the night
Jambo cafe at Simba is the awaken best coffee. Coffee is there all the time with different bites. Life starts with coffee start your life with coffee.
Beautiful place with a lot of and friendly animals around in the night especially Zebras just love them
Great campsite surrounded by animals.Bathrooms were good but showers were could be better.
Typical African accommodation :) It was perfect for sleep. At night we heard in the tent that buffalo were grazing next to our heads haha :D
Good location, facilities are great and comfortable
Great camping site on the crater rim. Also fair warning its going to get very chilly at night, the cool air is very refreshing but make sure to pack warm! This was my favourite campsite in our safari, we had an elephant roaming around us and the change in air and moisture was very nice.
Most amazing place to sleep during safari.
There were clean toilets, and you get a beautiful view. The dining area looks really nice with glass windows so no insects, and the ability to wash hands in dining area. A good place to camp but make sure you have enough clothes cause it gets freezing at night.
Its a very nice place to camp where one has a chance to observe and see various wild animal species in the morning and late evening passing by the camp. I loved camping at this area since all the necessary facilities are found there
The sunrise youll see there it makes it totally worthy 😊 Is not really protected from the animals, zebras and elephants were just some meters away. But nothing happened during the night and plenty of people who visit Ngorongoro park, stay there. There are toilets, showers (cold water), a kitchen area and a dining area.
Campsite close to Ngorongoro crater entrance. Within 30 min ready to descend into the crater.Only limited number of showers available. If the campsite gets busy you will need to wait before using showers and/or rest rooms.Guard watches over the camp ground.
A very pretty campsite with clean eating facilities and a large grassy area for tents.Unfortunately, this campsite has become very popular, maybe a little too popular. The hot water was limited before. But with large numbers of campers, that limited supply is gone quickly. The bathrooms suffer similarly from overuse. On the other hand, the facilities are still good and clean, and worlds better than Seronera.
Nice place for public camping. Decent clean toilets. There might be wild buffaloes grazing where you will make your tents. But they are mostly harmless.
Great campsite on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater! Wonderful view of the stars at night Animals roam free outside your comfrotable tent at night so be careful! Bring a torch - to get around at night and scare off the animals (who dont like bright lights).
Awesome campsite. Beautiful views, lots of space, hot water in the showers, and a great big tree to provide shade. There were zebra wandering around the camp site and a couple of eagles liked to hang on the big tree in the middle of the camp.
A basic campsite with one of the most spectacular views in the world over the Ngorongoro crater. The water in the showers is hot and there is power in the buildings for charging phones. Just watch out for the kites - they swoop down and can steal food from your hand and can leave a nasty scratch if you are unlucky.
Pretty good with great green credentials. Careful with their use of resources and waste disposal, great food (far better than I could imagine a camp kitchen would ever be able to produce) great location inside the park and comfortable clean accommodation. Not quite glamping but definitely better than real camping. I would definitely stay there again given the opportunity.
Nice campsite, large eating area and huge cooking area. Showers dont always produce hot water though and at night it can be much colder than you would expect
Nice place to stay. Animals nearby the tents like zebras, monkeys and elephants. Big room for eating with lot of battery charging possibilities. Warm showers. Wonderful view into the crater.
Its a nice campsite. There is free WiFi(sometimes unstable) and hot water for showering. It also has a nice view of the crater.Really good for a public campsite.
Good camp, but not wifi and noisy from nearly kitchen - ask for place as far as possible from kitchen
This campsite is very crowded; lots of tourists are here, and the tents are set up very close to each other, and in the dining hall you are sitting very close to other tour groups. Being situated at the top of the Ngorongoro Crater rim, this is likely also going to be a very cold place for you to stay as well (with no hot water).
Elephant, baboons, and water buffalo periodically wander into camp. Watch your belongings carefully, as this is a public space. Good kitchen facilities.
Nice campsite. Had hot water in showers. Usually have Cape buffalo come through camp. This year surprised by elephant picking through the kitchen trask.
WiFi access, showers, small coffee/snack shop and great food from our ONESEED stomach engineer!
Couldnt believe this site had WiFi and hot showers! They could make an effort to create a nice viewing area. Its a bit chilly at night, so make sure you have a warm sleeping bag
Camp site with hot water depending on your arrival time. Excellent view. As it is higher in altitude, make sure you have warmer clothes. Hygiene of washrooms ok for local norms.
This is a public campsite at Ngorongoro Conservation Area, most of the times zebras, Buffalo and elephants come and visit here in search for green pastures. Being here you will see wild animals very close to you
Enjoyed sharing the walk to the toilet block with zebra. Big dining hall for lots of campers. Gets very loud inside.
Its a good and standard place for everyone, with reasonable prices for all classes of tourists. Welcome!
Let me preface this by saying, camping is not my preferred accommodation. However, to appease my boyfriend who loves camping we planned in a few nights in on safari. We stayed here and at a camp in the Serengeti. If you are going to go camping, only do it here and not in the Serengeti. This place is clean, has hot water for showers, and a proper mess hall with lights and power outlets. It is still camping so it’s not luxury and the fact that it is nicer and the only campsite in Ngorongoro means you are sharing the land with many others. Nevertheless, this was way better than camping in the Serengeti and very close to the crater. We left from here at 5:30 for a morning game drive and were the first in the park before 6.
Very good facilities! The only problem were the noisy people
Simba A is the only public campsite at Ngorongoro, so odds are you may well end up here, especially on a cheaper safari trip. The campsite is huge, so in the peak season you could well find the place very crowded. The dining lodge has the most power points I saw at any public campsite on my safari - great for recharging cameras. There are two toilet/shower blocks, with the ones furthest away from the dining lodge being the nicest. The site is frequented by lots of animals - during our stay we saw several elephants in the foliage at the perimeter of the campsite... and whilst having a campfire at night, we looked up to see ~15 buffalo about 15 meters away from us, leading to us beating a hasty retreat! Park rangers are on site to keep an eye on the animals whilst you sleep.
Nice Campsite with some wild animals like zebras walking around the tends. Free wi-fi. The only thing the water in the shower was freezing cold.
Its good, large public campsite with all facilities required in public campsite
Sunbathing camp is a nice opportunity to stay in ngorogoron for less money. Restrooms are okay. Take something warm it is really cold at night :)
A giant tree on the front. Ontop of Ngorongoro crater. An elephant that comes now and then to drink, perfect for a selfie. A place to eat your packed lunch with running water and soap and washrooms.
The place is beautiful for camping. Buffalos and elephants visited us during camping :-) What I did not like was the shower places
Visited during the rainy (quiet) season - The campsite has two buildings with working electrical plugs and a toilet/shower block with hot water
Its good for camping but the fine you 50 USD if you drive on the grassDoes not quite understand the mobile camping consep
It was a really nice place. I can charge my phone and also use wifi free but pretty cold need to make sure
Almost always a friendly elephant strolls across the campsite. Zebras graze there at night. Amenities are okay
Only 1 freezing cold shower, for 40 male campers.... Imagine the queue in the freezing cold temperatures of August...The wifi is way too week for 80 campers...
Not a nice view but decent toilets, nice picnic areas and we saw a hyena at night
Its a camp-site in the middle of nowhere, so dont expect luxury. Toilets were pretty dirty most of the time... But again, middle of nowhere...
Very nice, clean camp site
Keeping in mind where you are...it is 5 star vs the Serengeti camps. Hot water and wi fi!!!! But note that the plsce get full during peak season. I will be back!!
Beautiful view, hot shower and internet. Who needs more? Bathrooms do need someone small renovations.
Safe camp with night armed guards. Large lunchroom and not satisfying restrooms but OK
Campsite where you can have a warm shower if you avoid the peak hours when people come back from their game drives.
Fun olcae to camp. Game all around during whole day. Bathroom was underconstruction and workman was somewhat imposing.
Watch for the zebra poo. Surprisingly there is wifi. It can drop to 10°C at night, be prepared
A camp in the middle of the ngorongoro. There was an elefant 10 meters away from the camping and at night you can hear the noises of the animals
Surprisingly, shower had hot water and the campsite had wifi (well not always working) and zebras!
Great campsite, alot of Buffalos around at night though!! Beautiful views
Its very attractive and you can see the buffalo during the night coming around the campsite
A very good view of the Crater .Very clean facilities.Dining area is excellent.Recommended.
Nice new buildings, a sweet spot on the crater rim but no hot water for showers! Still love it!
Limited use of showers. Basic facilities. Nice campsite
Cool Campsite with a nice view. Could have more washroom capacity and cleaner washrooms.
An essential overnight stop, depending on your route up Kilimanjaro, but dont expect luxury!
Zebras, buffalos, elephants and giraffes will always be your guests while camping.
I think they should add more toilets cause during the high season alot of people camp they and the present toilets are not enough
Its amazing and the place is so cool not so cold we see sun rise here
Amazing place....loved the weather...very safe and good for camping
Nice view, nice camping ground location, shower, and solor power light
A lot of wild animals with good voices of birds, good view of crater with healthy oxygen
Hot shower buffalo moving around clean wash room dinning hall security available
Very nice view with a big space for tenting
Very nice place
Nice and clean camp very good and beautiful
Best public Campsites
Considering the price a surprising lack of facilities, but a beautiful area.
Beautiful view from the crater rim, good place for a stay.
Its good that at every stage of camp .their ate ranger for help
FREEZING 🥶 but its a really nice place
