Nice Rooms but Poor Restaurant Especially the Free Breakfast
The staff looked unmotivated and lethargic. The food was mediocre. The room I stayed in (113) was in need of some repair with the toilet seat broken. It was a smaller room than the rest and they had squeezed in two beds in order to call it a double and get more money at the expense of a table, a seat and proper space. The wiring of the water heater was dangerously exposed. There was no WiFi (Yes in this day and age). The building (I think more than 4 floors) is not serviced by any lift and you have to go up a flight of stairs to get to your room.
We stayed in this hotel during the May bank holiday weekend and was impressed with what we got for the reasonable rate we had paid. The room was modern, clean and very comfortable - which helped a lot since I was recovering from a viral infection and spent a lot of time sleeping! The complimentary refreshments in the room and in the club lounge were a lovely touch. The hotel is very central and with a bus stop outside and a tube station 5 minutes walk away, it was easy to travel around.
