It was my first visit to Africa and we chose a trip to Tanzania. We reached out to multiple websites who were offering Kilimanjaro packages, but Kilimanjaro Bound was the fastest to respond to our queries. Since this was our first time to Africa, we had a lot of questions and Sam answered all of them clearly. As suggested by Sam, we did the 6 days Migration Safari first and then the Kilimanjaro hike via Machame route. Our Safari started from Arusha with Rajab as our safari guide. He was well informed about the flora and fauna of all the parks we visited. We were hoping to see the Big Five and thanks to Rajab, we could spot all of them, along with the migrating wildebeest in northern Serengeti and cheetahs in Central Serengeti. He also had a great sense of humor that made our safari very enjoyable. The camps that were provided were fantastic. One of them, Tortilis camp (in Central Serengeti), was located at a very nice place and we were able to sight Elephants and a herd of buffaloes just from the camp. The hospitality was great, and the food was cooked very well. At Northern Serengeti we stayed at Tingitana migration camp which was very close to migrating wildebeest and Zebra herds! We missed watching river crossing. It apparently happened the day before we reached Northern Serengeti :( But we were happy with our safari overall as we saw more animals than we ever imagined. After our Safari, we were taken to Moshi for our Kilimanjaro climb and we had a briefing on the same evening. We booked 7 days Machame route climb. Aggrey was our climbing guide, and we were accompanied by an assistant guide, a cook and the 9 porters. The crew was very supportive, helpful and friendly. The food was very tasty and it met our requirement of nutrition for the trek. We had varieties of fruits every day for breakfast. We had hot tea every morning, and hot water was prepared for us whenever we had to freshen up. The porters would carry our belongings and the tents, reach the campsite and set it up before we could arrive. They were all very cheerful throughout the hike and ensured they lifted our spirits. We were slow, when compared to many other groups around us, but Aggey never hurried us. We were allowed to hike in our pace, and he motivated us to move on, whenever we would rest for too long.On the summit day, we had to leave around midnight to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. Without the support of the guides and the crew, we would not have been able to complete the trek. Aggey and the assistant guide used to check our vitals often, to ensure we were safe and sound at all times. The descent was a little difficult as it was slippery. But the crew helped us and ensured we reached the base safe. We could not have asked for a better team to accompany us on the trek.We are planning to visit Africa again, and we are sure we will book it with Kilimanjaro Bound, for the quality of service they offer. I would highly recommend Kilimanjaro Bound.
Had a great hike on Kilimanjaro with Aggrey and Antonos as our guides. We did the Lemosho route in 7 days and we’re really happy with our choice. We were able to rent all the needed gear from the company, so we didn’t have to buy / bring everything just for this trek. The crew was amazing, we always had plenty of food and hot drinks, they treated water for us and the porters carried everything we wouldn’t need on the hike and pitch up our tents before we reached the camps. On summit day, our guides ended up carrying our day bags and motivated us, to make sure we would make it. Can only recommend these guys!
Fantastic experience! Really well looked after by our porters and our guides Leonard and Aggrey. Great food, support and company during our climb. We highly recommend using Kilibound for this brilliant adventure!Kieran & Grace
In February I did (30 years) a trekking with my father (67 years) to the Kilimanjaro. We choose to do the Machame route for 7 days, so we would have enough time to acclimatise on the mountain. Our guides were Aggry and Leonard. Both spoke English well and were nice and energetic when climbing Kilimanjaro. It was not an easy draw but with the right attitude and the right attitude - you can get very far. Every evening the boys did a health check and we had a briefing on what we can expect the next day. They always made sure that we understood what was important, but also to have fun. The rest of the team consisted of porters and a chef. The chef cooked a good meal every night! We always had soup (really good soup!) And then we got rice, potatoes or meat. Because I followed a gluten-free diet, the chef adapted the ingredients for me, so there was no problem.
Jambo!Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain / volcano in Africa. It lends itself to hiking to the top, Uhuru peak, mountain bike routes and also marathons. From hiking to the top there are different routes. We have done the Lemosho route from 25-06 to 02-07-2019. This route is known for its 5 different climate zones with stunningly beautiful landscapes. While walking, rest breaks are often taken to enjoy and record the surroundings. Very nice views, special plants .... I can go on .... but it is better to experience it myself. In any case, I often wanted to stay because it was so beautiful and relaxing.Due to the scope of 8 days we were able to acclimatize quietly, so to get used to the falling temperature and less oxygen. Our guides: Aggrey & William are real professionals and heroes in guiding us to the top. Every evening there was a briefing and our heart rate and oxygen intake were measured and recorded. Attention was paid to nutrition and well-being. The food (3-course menu) was provided 3 times a day by a super cook. A cheerful singing assistant set the table and served the delicious meals. In addition, he brought a bowl of hot water 3x a day to freshen us up and the hot tea to warm up nicely. The tent was also kept tidy by the help. The team also consisted of 6 Porters (3x for each). We were just the two of us.(My niece: 22yrs and I: 47yrs - diabetic, sleep apnea). I had no idea if I would make it or not. Thanks to this team, their and our efforts, my niece has achieved the Uhuru peak and I, the Stella point. The road there didnt go without a struggle. It is a fight (blood, sweat and tears). This team gave us the confidence, the peace and especially the protection and safety to complete this unforgettable adventure with good results.love ya, guysHighly recommended to choose this team.Professionals @ the job Mental & physical guidance to the TOP!KILIMANJARO, HAKUNA MATATA#Asante #AjuraKilimanjaro is the highest mountain / volcano in Africa.
