Room was ok, but the service at the reception was very bad. The always tried to earn more money by selling us tours or buses which were very expensive (double or third of the normal prize). We also left our luggage before traveling there but as we returned our backpackers were open.

Very welcoming staff. Great food and nice clean rooms.We had a short stay there around the Kilimanjaro climb.

A shame that they make you feel like a walking wallet.Would recommend for the Kili hike, very professional and a good price. Avoid renting gears as it’s insufficient for handling the cold.Accommodation wise its not the best. Lucky punch for hot shower, an hour and half to get food.

It is a pity that l will remember this place as an awful experience. I slept in the dorm room, first 2 nights l was feeling itchy when l went into bed and l thought it was maybe psychological, but the third night in the middle of the night l woke up with a harsh bite in my leg, then l went to the terrace to sleep. And the next day l left the place. The terrace is the only thing l liked, with a view of Kili.

Great hostel in Moshi! I spend one night there before my trekking to Kilimanjaro. I did book a single ensuite room which was absolutely stunning, I couldn’t expect more. Everything new and well preserved, toilet and shower were perfect, and very very very clean. Comfy double bed... and nice views to Kilimanjaro from my room :)Only bad point is that was next to the common area, and if people is talking outside loud, you can here everything.Nice and kind staff as well. They did pick me up from bus station, offered me a corn (delicious!) on the way to the hostel. They kept my luggage safe as well while I was away.There is a nice restaurant next to, with delicious food, a bit pricey though.Very recommended!

Simple place that is good value for money with the option to camp, stay in a dorm or private room. We stayed in a 4 bed dorm en-suite and everything was fine. There is also a kitchen where you can order food or make your own.

Because I liked and found this place on internet and its reviews got me going here. The Google location was perfect.. staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. I would have loved to stay more with my friends but we had to keep moving. Anyone looking for a backpackers place in Moshi.. This is your perfect place to look out for.And on good weather you can have the view of mount Kilimanjaro.

Great service and the free laundry is awesome. Breakfast is fast and delicious each day too. A bit of a walk to town but taxis are cheap if you dont want to walk and its nice to be in a quiet neighborhood

Rooms had a floor of sand so sand everywhere in the bed and your clothes .The guy of checked us in was rudeI come 5 minutes after the breakfast was done and he didn’t want to serve me the breakfast.

I loved this place! They had a free breakfast and it was so cheap. The owner was so sweet she hooked us up for some tours to Lake Chala (highly recommend) and helped us find buses to Arusha. I also made some cool friends and it was a short walk to the city centre (be careful walking at night as this is not advised). Highly recommend

We stayed here for two nights as an escape from our volunteering life in Arusha. The hostel is maybe ten minutes drive from the city center, in a quite area surrounded with amazingly green palm and banana trees and the best of all! From tho rooftop terrace you can enjoy your beer looking at Kilimanjaro. The dorms were clean the first night, they didnt prepare the beds for us the second night thou. For the breakfast you can chose from five different options of eggs. There is a bar next door that serves a small beer for $4000, which is significantly more than we pay in town (1500)but its handy and close to your hostel and the stuff is very friendly and fun to hang out with. Bring your water, the hostel sells the bottle for 2000, in the town you pay 850. The wifi is working and if you keep the heater on long enough, you will have a hot shower, amazing :) friendly girls at the reception and the free pick up from the town.

Nice place, cheap dorms 8$, a view on the Kilimanjaro from the common room or the mini terrasse. 30min by foot from town. I stayed two weeks there. Free breakfast, 2 toasts, 2 eggs, half a banana.

I slept in dorm, room for 6 people, but nobody was there, so pretty big luxus. Place is clean, really good bathroom. You can use pretty big kitchen and small terrace with view on Kilimanjaro.

Rafiki backpackers is a great place to stay! Whether you are going on safari, hiking kilimanjaro or just visiting Moshi for a few days. The staff is great. Breakfast is included and a nice start to the day. The rooftop terrace has amazing views of Kili!

Great place to stay in Moshi. Nice clean rooms, beautiful kitchen and rooftop eith view of Kilimanjaro. We planned to stay only one night before Kili but when returned we enjoyed two more nights.

Good budget place to overnight in Moshi. All beds have mosquito net. The staff is very kind and the breakfast is very tasty!

Cosy and safe – awarded “Best Hostel in Tanzania 2015 & 2016” (Hostelworld) – that’s Rafiki Backpackers & Guesthouse. The name rafiki means friend in Ki-Swahili and as such you shall feel from arrival to departure and beyond (if you wish!).

It is a cool place that is mostly used by tourists to enjoy the view of mountain Kilimanjaro and the geographical features of Moshi region

Stayed 3 nights in rafiki backpackers. Very good accomandation, friendly stuff, comfortable beds and awesome tours. Would definitely stay again at rafikis.

Cosy setting in moshi out of the hustle and bustle from town. I passed by to check the place out for a cheaper choice during the kili marathon stay and I was not disappointed at all. The best part of tanzania is making friends along the way and that includes the active bikers and three-wheelers available so with their contacts, I got to and fro the marathon shooting experience for a reliable budget for three days.

Rooms were clean and okay. location ok Theres definitely a deduction for the unfriendly staff. Pure rip-off, even for a taxi the receptionist collects properly. Tours way too expensive. Our bags were open after we left them there supposedly safe.

Was there with a group in 2018. Rooms were nicely decorated and maintained. Nice food and friendly staff. The prices are very fair. The roof terrace with a view of the Kilimanjaro is fantastic. The safari organized by the boss Alfred was very eventful and recommended. Would come again!
