SUGECO is the agriculture cooperative committed to supporting innovation and knowledge intensive entrepreneurship among Tanzanian youth. It was established in 2011, as a result of bilateral development assistance with Danida that aimed at supporting the national priorities goals. The core objective is to conceptualize, unfold and implement the student entrepreneurship value chain. It currently consists of 500 members that include young entrepreneurs dealing on a range of agribusiness products such as milk processing, horticultural farming and processing, poultry and micro-finance firms. The Cooperative is headquartered in Morogoro region and its members are based in the coastal and central zones of Tanzania. SUGECO provides a range of support to its members such as research development; lobbying; extension services in agriculture; access to facilities such as unfarmed land, farming equipment, greenhouse, food processing hub and packaging; training and capacity building about food literacy and entrepreneurship development.
