We really enjoyed our time here at the hotel! Nice rooms, very calm atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful garden.What could have been better: Food and drinks are very expensive, each guest gets only one bottle of drinkable water a day (to less for these temperatures and it’s hard to buy water somewhere else), variety of breakfast very low (mostly every day the same offer).
Great place, location, accommodation and food. Friendly staff. Superb beach with amazing white sand. Sunrise is breathtaking. Variation of blue of the Ocean are impossible to describe. Beach is endless.Fewer hotel/resorts than other places in Zanzibar, so less tourists. More authentic experience. Local people are friendly, cheerful and ready to help. Close from Mnemba Island, must do excursion.
Great view, friendly staff and good service. The food was very good, although a bit expensive. The bungalows are great for couples! Only note that the hotel is eco-friendly and in this case that means that rooms dont have air conditioning. Not a deal breaker with all the wind coming from the ocean, but just FYI.
The hotel is gorgeous inside out, from the room, lighting, the pool, to the restaurant. Price per night and food was expensive but food.Everything was perfect and I would have given 5-star rating if not for the beach. It was filled with sea urchins and can be interesting to walk around (in slippers!); but this made the beach completely not swimmable!
I loved this place, quiet, beautiful, peaceful and all the staff were so so lovely, friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Some reviews complained about the lack of AC but I found the two fans worked fine. It added to the rustic feel.ProsBeautiful and quiet location, staff so lovely in everyway, amazing breakfast, the beach by the hotel was so quiet and pristine. Room was beautiful and cleaned daily and also had an evening turn down service (where they prepare your mosquito net). You can rent kayaks and bikes to use. In preparation to stay here the staff were really responsive and quick to answer questions.ConsI stepped on a dead cockroach in my room :(. Staff resolved it really quickly and bugs are to be expected in this sort of location but I found cockroaches in my room everyday which was a bit scary. Also the vegetarian options were a bit bland and lacked flavour. I found the food a tad expensive and with the exception of breakfast the portion sizes were small.Not a con but there is not a lot to explore in the area so unless you want to pay for excursions this is a place for a more of a relaxed, lowkey holiday.
Staff was super friendly and helpful all the time we spent there. Beach was ok. Tide effects the beach on this coast. Rooms were clean and tidy. You better rent a car if you dont want to stay in the hotel during the whole vacation.
We spent here 12 days and each day was magical. Location of Magic Boutiqe Hotel is next to a beautiful beach with a soft sand form crumbled coral reef. Staff is amazing and very nice to every guest. Food is fantastic and the products are in high quality. I honestly recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in Zanzibar for holiday.

The hosts (Maciej and Anna) are so special – they helped us with everything (transport, tours, snorkeling, local recommendations etc). Garden is green with nice flowers and very good maintained, good services, family friendly.We recommend delicious meals in the restaurant, they are different every day. Seafood lick fingers. Ah, and the breakfast was so delicious!”We only stayed a couple of nights, but we loved everything about our stay and we will definitely come back :)
From the moment we arrived at Zanzibar Magic Boutique Hotel we fell in love with the place! Having just come back from a week stay we are already wanting toGo back!The hotel itself was exactly as per the pictures, we loved the feel of the place and felt very comfortable very quickly. The rooms were spacious and although did not have air con (which we were aware of before hand) were kept to a high standard and had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and beach. Being an eco hotel the turn down service was not every day but if you requested clean towels they were more than welcome to oblige with no trouble.The food at the restaurant was outstanding! We loved every meal that we had there and as mentioned in previous reviews there are no local restaurants within easy reach so to have this service at the restaurant was amazing! And although prices might have been slightly higher than local prices we felts the standard was well worth the price!One of the favourite parts of the whole trip for me was meeting all the amazing staff at the hotel! Every single person that we met at the hotel were incredibly friendly and always had a smile on there face! They made you feel completely at home! One of the bar men even took us for a walk out to the local sandbank on his break to show us the local area. The manager also went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.The hotel and reception were amazing at organising any tours / trips we wanted to do and made the whole holiday incredibly easy and stress free as everything was taken care of!I could not recommend this hotel more! No trip to Zanzibar would be complete with out a stay here. Perfect for relaxation, amazing food and a gorgeous beach right on your door step!
Our stay at Zanzibar Magic has been sensational. The owners Anna and Magic are wonderful and friendly hosts who have made our visit comfortable and pleasant. The staff are very helpful and assisted in booking our excursions. The location is breathtaking and peaceful. The beach is quiet, local fishermen and children can be found along the coast. The area is not built up at all. If a relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar is for you then this is definitely the place to stay.
New intimate small property on Matemwe beach. Sea view rooms with private outdoors, round pool, 2 typical bungalows on the beach, lush tropical gardens, panoramic bar and restaurant. Great quality of food, good service, perfect for couples, small groups of friends and also for business people looking a quiet place where to work with a magic environment.
Wow, where do I begin.. Such an incredible hotel. The location is spectacular, the staff are super (Jamal, Robert and Hassan) where great, Jamal also taught us Bohoo (a type of board game.) The waitresses were fantastic, the food was the best we had (we went to a few other places in Matemwe, fresh, delicious and varied at Magic.) Our room was always cleaned and was tastefully decorated. If you are looking for a place to completely relax, enjoy good food, do lovely beach walks, be taken care of, this is the place to go! Thank you Magic, for an unforgettable, relaxing holiday.

I ll start speaking about all the details that can be helpful for the next customers of this location.Just to onform you , we spend 3 weeks in Zanzibar but from 3 weeks we spend 2 weeks in MAGIC BOUTIQUE, we stayed in Nungwi and Kendwa for 4 nights and 2 other nights in Stone Town,I suggest you just to spend only one night where ever you want in ZANZIBAR with a simlar budget in any hotel, and the another night or more in Magic Boutque, this is a test to understand the quality tha you will have in this Hotel.about the hotelThe hotel is brand new, you just cannot mention anything, the swimming pool is stunning, the location is perfect as the position is just on the beach and the wind go completly inside the rooms all the time, that s why you don t need even the AC.The rooms are clean and tidy, full of all the necessary that you need in your holiday.At the reception you can find so many services:safari,tours around the island,laundry service,bycicle available for free.about the beachThe beach is changing every day even you cannot swim all day long, but when is the low tide you cand enjoy to visit the reef and also to go byy scooter and visit the rest of the coast.Usually is a clean ebach with a green colour of the ocean.about the foodthe food is just magic!:) The y invest a lot also in the kitchen staff because all the chef s are actually weraing gloves , thing that neether in a lot of expensive restaurants in Europe I never see, the foo dis tasty, the price are good considering the quality, for any other customer that they eant to eat outside the hotel and maybe eat from the street definitly the price will be cheep but remember all the time that you pay for the quality so everyone is free to decide, for us, me and my girlfriend we try to eat in a lot of pleaces, but so much taste and clean kitchen we actually never found, you are free to eat sea food everywhere but it s all your risk, be careful where you decide to eat seafood!about the staffThe Manger, Lucas, mind about the staff one by one, the guys are smiling all the time , they just change your life whle you will stay there, I just stop thinking about all my problems when I met them, they will listen to you and they will enjoy with you just all the time, they are young guys fulll of energy, we just left all our clothes and other staff to them when we left from the location.Things to let you know about our holiday,with the help of the manager Lucas and with a gift from the owner also, the guys from staff organize for us a special deinner with palms decorations on the beach,actually I made the proposal to my girlfriend in that evening.All the staff celebrate with us, they where so happy for us, we also where surprised about all the oraganisation, I will attacched some pictures bellow.Actually nothing is missing from this location, everything was going so good since when we change location, we went in Kendwa and Nungwi, we spend even more money per night but the treatment was so bad, the kitchens so dirty and the staff so rude, we miss Magic a lot in that 4/5 days,Just in case anyoane wants details about safari,tours around the island I have all the contacts necessary, and even if you want more details about this hotel I will answer you here or even you can find me on facebook, you cana lso check my pictures, 3 weeks in paradise!!!!
Hidden treasure in Zanzibar.Magic is the best description of this place.Owner or owners designed with a very subtle way with a precious details.Hard to imagine if you dont see.Nice staff and very responsible.The food was excellent.The only thing is, too short list of wines ( have the good ones) but probably this is the problem of the whole island.
A very cosy and comfortable place.Everything is thought through and well organized.The only negative thing is the the prices and sizes of the food.
I lack words because it was simply the best. Enjoyed every bit of it.The services and staff. My sister was a lil bit sick and the owner went outta the way to cater for her. I highly recommend it. Will visit again and again

We spent 3 nights, in this small hotel, and we are delighted. The hotel does not disfigure the magnificent Matemwe beach. The area is very calm and very relaxing.The rooms are spacious and clean, we were on the 2nd floor and therefore had a very beautiful sea view. The advantages of the hotel: provision of canoe, bicycles, beach shoes. The restaurant is excellent the dishes are varied. The breakfast is copieuw and very good.
I really enjoyed this place because the place is simply beautiful but also because the people of the hotel and the cuisine really liked me so the whole thing together is well worth spending some time there👍

The hosts are Poles, hamlo! You cant drink your own water on the beach, you cant eat mangoes, you were with children! We did not find a common language with the manager, we left for another hotel !!!The rooms are small, there is no air conditioning, the breakfasts are the same every day !!!!! Eggs and coffee. There is only bleach in the pool
Very nice, intimate hotel, canopy and peace. Clean and friendly service. The beach is large and well-kept. The only unpleasant experience that we experienced was that the sunscreen was stolen on the first day of our stay. We reported this fact and no reaction from the owners. Maybe not. It was a big loss but cream with filter 50 was very hard to get. Of course, there was no such thing in the hotel.

Goes so. Simple cabin (bungalow) for a great price. But also has rooms, which I did not see. The staff is very nice. Recommend the massages on the beach near Sofia !!Better not book half or full board, but go to Zanzibar Sunrise at Bandas a few hundred meters down the beach. Fantastic, affordable dinner. Monday, Wednesday and Friday even at i. d. R. very good life music. This is popular with its straw bungalows as a honeymoon destination.
I do not advise Russian-speaking tourists. The attitude of the owners of the Poles is bestial. My child and I were evicted from the hotel for taking plates from the bar and at the same time engaging visitors. And the whole thing was in my room, which in my presence was occupied by a New European visitor (12/23/20)And yes there are no air conditioners in the rooms
Modern Eco Hotel! Surrounded by exotic plants with close proximity to the ocean.Throughout the hotel - access to Wi-Fi, there is security. For cars - free guarded parking. The organization of a transfer and excursions is possible.The restaurant is a real restaurant of African cuisine, serving grilled meat, fish and vegetables. The restaurant has a great view of the ocean.However, the prices in the restaurant and bar surprised, above the European level!
Zanzibar was unique, a land of many contrasts where poverty and wealth were so blatant. I would highly recommend this hotel, because it was so well laid out and typical of the country. (12 rooms and 2 bungalows). It was a beach hotel where the tides played an important role. Without overshoes at low tide, I would recommend anyone to go into the water, so even one has acquaintance with hundreds of sea urchins! The thrill of the thing was that you could visit the 400m distant beautiful sandbank at low tide. The pluses of the hotel: decent EuroAcean food, lots of fish and for breakfast fresh fruit and exotic juices! Sports facilities were with fatbikes and kayak at least available!
The hotel is more than average, the rooms are small and the windows have no dark curtains so you can not sleep from the sun. If you accidentally leave a key on the entrance door, the door is automatically closed and you can not go outside, and there are no phones in the rooms so you have to wait for random passers-by to unlock you if they hear you. Food is almost every day the same, desserts too, you can choose between inedible cakes and bad ice cream. Furthermore, the service is very slow and bad communicates with the guests in English, although it tries to be kind. The cleanliness and location of the hotel are fine!
