Excellent villas for family holidays by the white sandy beach. Staff are very polite and helpful. Food is good too. There is a swimming pool too to enjoy when the tides are too low.At night enjoy the star gazing by the ocean, the air is unpolluted and sky is very clear.Just a short boat ride can take you to amazing spot for snorkeling. Marine life is breathtaking. If you are lucky you may see dolphins too.Hated to see some tourists and locals not being responsible of the environment when garbage was being carelessly disposed. If not protected this place could lose its beauty.

Food is also good but for Zanzibar quite exspensive (all prices only in Dollar etc)Rooms are nice at First but after Looking more closely you see a Lot of Things that should be improved. Some Walls in the bathroom Had yellow stains. Toiletbrush very dirty and old. Toilet Seat was completly yellow ...The Door wouldnt shut properly so mosquitos could get in the room.What was the most unfortunate... was the staff ... Especially in the Restaurant... they seemed Like Zombies to us ... they wouldnt greet us...or Talk to us at all.... The only conversation in the morning was: Tea or Coffee? And finished? Thats IT .... No Good morning....No enjoy your food .... No have a good day ...Same for Housekeeping ... They would Not greet and only Look at us in an unfriedly Kind of way (maybe because we were dressed casually for the beach...I dont know)...the only one who was friendly was one of the Guys from Front desk ...I personally can not really recommend this place ... Which is unfortunatly, because it does have a Lot of Potential to be a great Hotel.

Average experience. The staff is grumpy but they have fresh coconuts and italian espresso. Well that is when they actually make you an espresso. Once they just poured instant coffee in an espresso cup and didn’t care they spilled it everywhere 😀

AVOID THIS HORRORTEL We had a very bad start and stay on the first day. The mosquito net which is hold by a heavy piece of wood fell on my head causing several bruise and swelling. It got fixed but the roof had a lot of holes, so is not the first time it felt. This happened again on my last day, at 00:00 at night, there was no reception and the security guy got us another room after one hour wait without sleeping. On the check out I was charged 50 usd from the restaurant which was not mine, so I did not pay. Please check your bills carefully.On the other hand, they sell alcohol without having license and at a very high price. This hotel claims to be luxury villa but is not even a 1 star hotel, everything is broken as you will see in my pictures, lamps, furniture, mosquito net. The sink taps are rusty and it is dangerous for your skin or your children. Also the shower is rusty.The staff is very slow, long waits for dinner (more than an hour) and the food is poisonous, very bad taste and not take care of European security measures. The persons they have that offer you tours will rip you off and sell lies.I will claim part of my money for sureAll in all, any hotel from the beach is way better than this horror hotel and you can safely eat in the other hotels.

Awesome place, air conditioning and a liltle fridge in room which is fantastic to cool bottle water (free bottled water Inc everyday) . Amazing bathroom and room service cleaned everyday.Lovely pool!

Overall this hotel is okay. The room was pretty nice, but there was no mosquito net on the bed. Additionally, the food in the hotel restaurant was atrocious and extremely overpriced. Lastly, the wifi in the hotel was terrible. The only good thing about this hotel was that the view of the beach was great. However, all in all, I would not say that I will be coming back here again.

Clean and spacious rooms. AC is working. TV not so much... but who comes here to watch tv ;)Hotel service is helpful. Hotel is located almost on the beach. Pool is small but was enough for us.Big disadvantage is lack of alcohol. To get a beer you need to go to other restaurant or hotel, but there is no problem to come back with a beer and sit next to the pool :)If we come here again we will stay in Zanzibar Bahari Villas :)

It is a shame that such a beautiful area has a very bad hotel. It is not even a one star hotel, all furniture,roof,fridge,shower is either broken or rusty, all buildings are neglected. Also, there is a mosque beside the hotel so everymorning at 5:00 am you will be waked up by the prays and also the buildings construction beside. There is a lot of noise. The food is very bad also, there are much better options on the hotels colliding. We also got ripped off by the bahari villa beach boys. They sell beer at very high price

A good place to stay at Matemwe.Staff if very friendly and helpful.Rooms are clean, spacious and confortable.Good dishes at the restaurant, daily menus with fresh fish.However, very few space to hangout near the swimming pool.Really bad wifi experience, very slow, often unavailable.Impossible to swim in the sea at low tide.

Extremely good location and friendly staff. They let me check in early in the morning (7am) and didnt charge anything extra, and let me take a shower in my room even after checkout.I dont write this for others to abuse the hospitality, just to serve with an example that describes the positive attitude of this place in general.

Nice little paradise. We stayed 2 nights in Zanzibar Bahari Villas. The dinner was very delicious, especially the vegetable curry! The beach is empty and white. Paradise! The staff were very friendly.

Great value for money! Really a pleasure to stay on Bahari Villas. The staff is very nice and polite and they are really making an effort for you to feel good.The waiting time for dinner can sometimes be a bit long in busy periods, but not longer than other places on Zanzibar so just hakuna matata. The food is terrific though and they decorate and serve it nice too.Based on my experience, I can definitely recommend Bahari Villas.

The place is quite good but we still decided to switch the hotel because there is not so much space to hang out. Rooms are clean and very nice. Food is also very good and service quite nice.

Such a beautiful experience at Zanzibar. The villa had spacious rooms and the view was especially breathtaking. I cant even begin to describe my experience in Zanzibar. I am definitely making another trip in the nearest future. We also went snorkeling - that was a beautiful experience seeing the coral reefs and clear blue waters. I think this group vacation with Uzo, Tope, Deola, Chioma, Ify and Afeez has been my best vacation yet. Africa is Beautiful!!!!!

Super friendly hotel right on the beach with probably the best, friendliest and most helpful team that I have ever experienced on a vacation.Nice rooms with a great view, pretty pool with loungers facing the sea. Very good restaurant, where everything is always freshly prepared (therefore plan a waiting time).If you want to vacation in a personal hotel, this is the place for you!

We stayed in the villa for 5 days. The hotel and the swimming pool face the sea and offer you an exceptional view. The staff are wonderful, helpful and attentive.A small downside, the villa is not equipped enough to be able to cook.

Im there right now and dont recommend it at all. Certainly, the view is magnificent, but when we get to the room, we realize that there are no sheets on the bed and that the mattress protector is dirty. The extra bed requested for my son was not placed. It was 1 p.m. and the room was still not ready when the check-in was at 12 p.m.We were moved to another room which turned out to have almost no ocean view, despite being part of our reservation. The towels are stained and the three outlets on my side of the bed are not functional. The mattress is very soft and not at all comfortable. We ate at the hotel restaurant and had to wait over an hour for simple dishes. We regret having paid on arrival, as compensation we are only offered to offer us 2 meals. This hotel, not worth it, you will waste more time and money than anything else with all the faulty items. Go on your way, there are so many more quality Zanzibar hotels.

A hotel without more. We arrived, we settled in and the air conditioning did not work, the receptionist tried to have it repaired but when she couldnt, she very kindly offered us another room; The next day we had to pack our bags and move, having to go down one floor and go to another block on another first floor and without an elevator. Ill start with the cons. There is regularly no water in the room. T. E. Absolutely. After a 9 hour flight, we were able to wash only after 4-5 hours. And this continues to this day. Something breaks constantly. Toilet, safe, lock ... Its okay. Akuna-matata.On the plus side - the room is spacious, the view is gorgeous, the staff is friendly ... More or less. Breakfasts are laughter. Every day a choice of 8 different eggs and 1 pancake. Some fruit. It makes no sense to take lunches and dinners. For cash, they cook much better, bigger and tastier. Overall a good hotel. Its not worth your money ... But nothing here is worth your money. This is the norm.

My opinion concerns the restaurant only because we were not staying at this hotel.In summary: to go there in any case especially not to eat, it was the worst experience of our stay in Zanzibar (in fact the only bad experience because we also had a great meal elsewhere). Everything was inedible (and the service abysmal on top of that, but thats a detail).

Ill start with the pluses, we really liked the hotel, well-groomed garden, cozy room, comfortable beds, stunning views from the balcony, friendly, helpful staff, convenient location of the hotel, there are no local settlements, animals, only a school, a small minimarket, a pharmacy, fruits nearby. On the downside, the hotel was built in 2014 and the furniture / plumbing is already slightly shabby, in the room we originally checked in, the door handles were broken both at the front door and at the balcony. The balcony door was difficult to open. In another room (it was on the second floor), it was electric shocks if you turn on the water heater (this problem was apparently only in two rooms of one house) and there was a rather old refrigerator (but the hotel staff replaced it with a normal one). Meager breakfasts, poor wifi, lack of alcohol - its true, but personally, it didnt bother me. And so, everything is great! For its price - quite a comfortable stay.

My concept for a tropical getaway is wifi, beer, and the ocean.It may sound very vulgar, but thats the way it is.This hotel has no first, second or third. But first things first:1) WiFi: While relaxing in the room, most of the time I saw the inscription get an ip-address or connect. Considering that I was in Zanzibar for the first time, I initially thought that this is Africa and this is within the framework of local technologies. The hotel is good, the rooms are cleaned every day, towels and bed linen are changed.The air conditioner did not work in one room, we said, and we were immediately transferred to another. We had a family vacation at this wonderful hotel in September 2019. We rented two rooms with breakfast. The rooms are well equipped, there is everything you need. Everything is in working condition. The rooms are large, spacious. Hot water and electricity have always been. At the reception they took an adapter for sockets. Every night the rooms are treated for insects. The breakfast is hearty, but unfortunately very monotonous, it was the only negative for us. You can order pancakes or eggs: omelet, fried, Spanish omelet, scramb, boiled. Everything else is good and the pool and staff. You can have dinner at the hotel, they cook normally, the price is adequate. This hotel is designed for a relaxing holiday, relaxation. You can take snorkelling at the hotel. I didn’t like the masses, they are very annoying, it is annoying, on other beaches they do not stick as much as on this one. But this does not apply to hotel ratings

When visiting Matemwe beach, they came here to drink something cold. Fresh pineapple was made from frozen pineapple cubes frozen together, which apparently remained after breakfast, the coconut was warm and it felt like fermented, so grade 3. The menu is immediately in dollars, there are only Europeans near the pool. We walked around the hotel - small, green and well-groomed.
