Ridiculously pricey one day trip from Arusha for very basic attraction worth not more than few dollars. For 100$ per person you got the long road, small walk to the waterfall ( nice but nothing special or spectacular) and Chaggy museum. Coffee tour - nothing to learn, just a very basic info and like 15 minutes presentation of the production on traditional items ( more acting than a real experience). Not interesting at all. Chagga caves - 10 minutes walk through the tunnel with very bored guide who couldn,t answer even simple questions about the place. The only information we received was just a basic sentence like “ here was a kitchen” . At the end short walk on the hill were we supposed to see Kilimanjaro. The mountain was covered by clouds, of course it cannot be plan. But the Kilimanjaro view from the hill is mostly covered by antenna tower, so there is no chance for clear view even on the great weather. The whole trip is just a tourist trap.
Surprisingly good, great guides, could really relate to the Chagga/Masai conflicts that influenced the culture. Well worth a visit. Plan for 2 hours. Think about it as a historical precursor to the VietCong tunnels...many parallels.
Wonderful museum of the culture and history of the Chagga tribe. Very friendly and informative guides and a nice little gift shop as well. Definitely something that more visitors to Kili should familiarize themselves with; also a very convenient stop to include on a visit to the nearby waterfalls.
Our trip was organized through trekking hero and included a trip to the waterfall beforehand. Our guide, Honest, was AMAZING and we highly reccomend asking for him!We had an amazing time learning about the caves and doing a coffee tour. Def not a museum in the traditional sense--it consists of the caves and an old-school Chaga home. We first had a conversation with the owner, who told us about the history and building of the caves, warfare between the Maasai and Chaga people (woof, fascinating but brutal), various ceremonies (like genital mutilation-extra woof-thankfully the practice has been discontinued), and then were given a tour through the caves and home. After this we were brought through the traditional coffee refining, roasting, and brewing process which was a lot of fun, and at the end enjoyed a cup of the Arabica we brewed.Definitely a great time for those looking for a cultural experience.
It was such a good place and I was really happy to know my Tribe Background
Very nice place to learn about Chagga traditional
Maybe it would be worth a while but to pay 20 000 tzs for a 30 minutes walk?! The price was ridiculously high and I was really disappointed, would not recommend. There are many amazing natural gems where you can see spectacular views and enjoy nature. This wasnt even worth 10 000 tzs to be honest.Usually, I dont give bad reviews but this one is mainly to warn people for spending money for seeing a small cave and one hut ...like..really?
High price, guide couldnt really explain anything, very short walk. TOTAL tourist trap.
Interesting place to visit. Chagga history is amazing. Caves digging is ingenuity at its best
Top class historic site with Information. Regarding the Chagga culture. Good Ancient Cave marking down to the Middle stone age . many artifacts and Cultural Information. Not forgetting the nearby Ndoro Water falls.
Place to find best moments and scenes
It was interesting to know the chaggas historical background
Listen to the stories and learn from their forgiveness. Caves are incredible but not reccomended for the claustrophobic.

It is not worth going that far just to see this museum, the caves theme is curious but not to go specifically only to that. If you go to Kilimanjaro, find nearby and you can visit it.
Interesting but dont spend more than a couple of hours
