Beautiful spot and close to the Kondoa rock art tourist center where you can pick up a guide for drives to the caves. Great for a weekend trip. However, the camping site itself is only for die-hard campers. Pit toilets, bucket-shower, no electricity at all, no food, no drinking water. Bring everything yourself from Arusha, Babati or Dodoma (even Kolo itself barely has anything to buy)! The grounds are covered with thorns; tents with thin ground cloths are not suitable - the thorns went straight through the ground cloth as well as our air mattresses! That said, the staff is helpful, the view very pretty, there is absolute silence under a brilliant sky at night. The staff will provide a bucket of water near your tent for hand washing, and will boil water for showers and dish washing. Fire wood is also available. There is also a gazebo with tables and in times past there used to be a cafeteria, but there was no food service when we were there. Good place to hide though in case it rains. An enjoyable experience overall.

Its a nice campsite managed by locals from the village right behind it who have put a lot of effort to bring a bit of comfort to the bush. It has toilets and water. Theres also tented camp available. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Good stop to visit the rock paintings in the region.

A very adventurous campsite! Great view of the surroundings, a campsite supervisor heated the water for us and you could then take a hot shower in the sauna house. There was also a campfire.
