I work here and have been here for more than four years...it is one of the oldest mines in Tanzania and probably one of the oldest diamond mines on Earth...especially considering that it has been operational continuously since early 1940s. The site has all facilities for living in...houses for workers, schools, college, sports venues, recreation facilities, a hospital churches and shops among many other things...there are even small farms around houses where workers can farm and keep small number of livestock on small scale for food...so it is in general a very comfortable place to live in.
