Great local market where the locals offer their products at local prices, mostly fruits and vegetables, but also fish and meat. It is different at night when there gather lots of people to taste local dishes offered at simple stands.

Organised chaos but a great experience walking through & exploring. Also a lot cheaper then the shops in Stone Town.

Limited choice of products, the sellers all have the same products.The part dedicated to the sale of the meat is hygienically lacking to say the least.

The market is the first thing I visit in similar destinations, we rented a scooter and set off. An indescribable atmosphere for Europeans, we were the only tourists there. Large selection of fruits at low prices.

Local market where you can find seasonal fruits, vegetables, meat, spices, household goods, second-hand clothes. If you bargain, you can bring down the initial price well.

Good market. Fruit is much cheaper than on the beaches. The huge mango cost 1200 shillings each. Papaya about 1.5-2kg - only 2000 shillings. Passion fruit - 3000sh per kg.

Good market, prices are much lower than in shops in Matemwe, especially since there is nowhere to buy more fruits. At the end of March, the choice was not great, but there were watermelons, green pineapples, bananas, papaya, oranges, grapes, avocados, jackfruits and some unknown fruits like apples and mango. I bought it, but they are not very tasty, for everybody. And in any case, you always have to bargain if you are not a local.
