Had a great few nights here. Couldnt fault the place. The rooms were lovely, the staff were all so friendly and welcoming and genuine. The location was very chilled out. I enjoyed the food a lot. A nice added bonus was the landscaping. The walk to and from our lodge was so enjoyable walking by all the various plants and even animals. Although there it was a very chilled place there were enough activities (scuba, snorkelling, walks, kayaking) to keep the easily bored entertained.

Very quiet place where you will feel spoilt. Staff is the best ever, food superb.Make sure you bring with you a good book as there isnt much to do except for laying on the beach and enjoy the view. The resort has only few rooms and the place is always very quiet. However there are also activities organized by the resort such as snorkeling, kayaking and day trips.

This place is amazing. The staff is great, they cater to your every need and always are happy to do it. Do the snorkeling in the morning if you want to snorkel with Dolphins.

Beautiful lodge, kind staff, stunning location, but Zanzibar is clearly dealing with some garbage and sanitation issues from tourism growth and impoverished local communities, which is unfortunately affecting this stretch of coastline.

Our stay at Matemwe Lodge was simply awesome! Ross and his team are just great and fulfilled all our wishes.We stayed in Bungalow 9, which is one of two bungalows that have a plunge pool attached. The bungalows are very spacious with modern bathrooms and a large terrace overlooking the ocean and mnemba island.The service is above all that we have seen on the island. The staff is very kind and gives you the feeling of special and unique treatment.We highly recommend to book a private tour to one of the sand banks, incl lunch.The Bush babys are another highlight! Dont miss to feed them at 7PM every day!
