Excellent history of dr livingstone, ujiji and Kigoma including slave and ivory trade.Mr Qasim the curator was great.The place is clean including toilet and is well maintained. A must see in Ujiji. The museum is 100m from the lake tanganyikaHighly recommended

Visiting this place will give you a good view of Dr. Livingstone  who did explorer in Africa, and one of the most popular British heroes of the late 19th-century Victorian era.

The place is a repository of The History of KIGOMA.. So much to see there..

It is not a big history place, but it is the only historical place.

This is the place to visit if you want to learn history and current issues of Kigoma, slave trade, influence of Islam in the communities along the slave trade routes, evolution of civilization in Ujiji, the Lake Tanganyika and the famous European explores, in particular the Dr Livingstone himself. Our guide was perfect in both Kiswahili and English. Very modest entrance fees for East Africans. Having been to Zanzibar and Bagamoyo, this place made my understanding of many things in this Western side of Tanzania more complete.
