At this village style lodge theyll offer weekend holidays and bed & breakfast just 350m from the beach. The host is an excellent cook and cake expert.

SandRocks gives you a chance to experience one of Dars most exquisite beaches if youre on a budget. The beach is pristine, deserted, great for swimming, and perfect for sandcastles etc. Without SandRocks, this treasure would be inaccessible to us as we have found nothing else in the 100,000 per family per night range. The rooms are basic, and adequate, with comfortable beds with mosquito nets, and clean conditions. Ask for more towels/pillows/sheets if you need them. Its an eco lodge so the water pressure in the shower is not strong. Youre also dependent on breezes rather than fans to cool down, so if Dars heat and humidity is an issue for you, its best to go in the windier months in the middle of the year.Theres no menu at the restaurant, so feel free to request your favourites. Casey prides himself on his food. We have had delicious calamari, prawns, fish, etc. We got toast, omelettes, fruit and milk tea for breakfast. Just make sure you agree on the price for meals at the start of your visit. Our kids loved the wide open spaces of the garden, the little play house and the bonfire at night time. They managed the 10min walk to the beach fine. Some of the things listed as complimentary like wifi you need to ask for. We found the staff very responsive to our requests so do make sure to communicate them. We have been twice now and the improvements we asked for on our first stay (like a mosquito net on our window) were implemented by our second.

This is a simple lodge in Kigamboni. Rooms are adequate with a bed and bathroom that has no door but only a curtain dividing it from the room. Electricity is a real problem here. We were without power for the entire night during our stay. The beach is a good 15 minute walk through an off beaten track. I would not recommend this place.

Beautiful spot in a peaceful and remote area, a few minutes walk to the ocean. Really nice to explore along the coast on the beach - it is a safe area for walking unlike other parts of the coast. Run by super friendly and helpful folks - highly recommend!

Lovely Place, Lovely People and Piece. I visited SandRocks for a Yoga weekend which was organised there, the ambiance was very quiet and pieceful, singing birds, nice food and in the evening there was some music around the fire. I can home with a very relaxed feeling.
