It was once in a lifetime experience. it was my first time hiking . Took us 5 hours and 30 minutes to go to the peak of the mountation and back to the starting point . Total 8 km covered . The tour guide was very helpful .

I went to visit Sanje Falls which wasnt an easy task to accomplish. The price is high, if you are not a resident and for me as for student it was not to pay. For the visiting the waterfall, just for 3,7 km walk in total, they charge 30 to 50 dollars, on the top of it you pay local taxes 20 dollars and also guide 20 dollars. Afterwards they offer you a lift to the Sanje Falls entrance which is about 9 km away from the main entrance, where you have to registrate yourself, for 30 dollars when you can also take a public bus just for less than one dollar. If going there when being a mzungu (white person) be ready to be asked always for more money than locals and to pay more. However, in spite of it being challenging at times, it is still worth it once you are there. The waterfall is wonderful. You have also a nice view from above and can swim next to the waterfall. I loved it absolutely.

Beautiful and amazing experience!To reach to the to the top takes about 2 hours at a normal hiking speed. and one to one hour and half if you re well fit.I highly recommend to hike when its not raining.

The mountains & waterfalls are so fascinating to watch, you can take amazing photos and there is a beautiful cold weather. There lots of monkeys along the road side.

Great way to see more of the beauties of Tanzania. Short (2-4 hours) and long (3 days) hikes are possible. Lots of wildlife-monkeys and baboons especially. Very knowledgeable and friendly guides-speaking multiple languages. OPEN on the weekends despite what google says.

Tanzanias tallest waterfall the Sanje Falls is at this park. There are a couple of trails to hike the most popular being the Sanje trail. The park is beautiful and you can really appreciate the nature and the clean air. Theres not much public facilities so must be prepared when going.Note: You must register at the park office before starting any hike and contrary to one of the reviews written here you should not just start your hike without registering first - it is an offence.

Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a national park in Tanzania with a size of 1,990 km2 (770 miles2).The habitats contained within the national park include tropical rainforest, mountain forest, miombo woodland, grassland and steppe. There is a vertical height range of 250–2,576 metres (the peak of Lohomero), which incorporates the Udzungwa Mountains part of the Eastern Arc Mountains. There are more than 400 bird species, 2500 plant species (25% of which are endemics) and 6 primate species. It has the second largest biodiversity of a national park in Africa.

Spectacular waterfalls. Useful guide who took us on the longer day walk. It was challenging but achievable. Beautiful scenery and waterfalls.

Had the best experience hiking, swimming at the natural swimming pool. The Nature is just inviting.

This park is absolutely gorgeous with an incredible amount of diverse life, especially endemic plants, birds and primates. I would highly recommend the Udzungwa falls lodge for its commitment to the sustainability of the natural environment and excellent accommodation, food, and service.

The Sanje falls walk was fab. The view is extraordinary. The trees were impressive, really quite exceptional. Had a lovely day, not too strenuous but a good hike. Just over priced in my opinion re the park fees.

It is fantastic place to visit, without forget the water falls, including nice weather. Youll enjoy.

Went to the Sanje Falls on our own. Had the coordinates for the path by GPS. Access to the path is hard to find. There is a small parking lot and a few semi-grown ones selling hiking sticks and coconut milk. However, there is no sign of anything at all. There are no signs of paying a parking fee. First, you have to climb a small house settlement on a slope. Only upstairs is a signpost. The path itself is easy to walk, although quite strenuous. On the way up there are small signs of various tree and plant species. On the top you can expect a fantastic view and you can enjoy a bath in one of the numerous water pots.On the way back, we were then approached by a guide that the use of the way costs entrance fee. At the bottom we were greeted by a ranger with a fully loaded weapon and forced to drive in two separate cars to Parkoffice 9 km away. There we had to pay the US $ 90 official costs and penalty in additional $ 45 penalty.The Sanje Falls itself is certainly a worthwhile destination but to pay a total of 45 $ per person admission and afterwards with weapon force to procrastinate is an absolute NO-GO! Especially since you need for this way no guide. This is not the case in any country that wants to open up for tourists.
