🍃Nature, 🏝Beach: Kwenda beach is located in the NNW of Zanzibar and easily accessible by boat or by foot. This stretch of beach has an array of activities on offer and is ideally balanced with options to enjoy the beach as a swimmer, snorkeler or sunbather.The reef creates a sheltered & shallow beach with white sand and warm kaleidoscopic water of turquoise & dark blue.The beach is mainly populated with various hotel guests.Unfortunately, this beach is brimming with “beach boys”: groups of vendors that hover up and down the beach.They sell trinkets & excursions to guests as they walk down to the ocean. They can be bothersome but for the most part seem to respond well to a polite decline.Occasionally these “beach boys” can be forcefully persistent, to the point of discomfort.📌 Note: Interestingly, some of these vendors are local villagers with specific permits from their “zone counsellors” to operate along their home beach. The initiative was created as an effort to assist locals with participation in tourism. They wear lanyard ID cards to distinguish themselves as reputable local service providers / sellers.The rouge vendors without ID cards are (generally) not Zanzibarian.These “beach boys” are not unique to Kwenda beach, they are found on most of the public beaches and/or where there are tourists.Beach beauty: 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great beach, wonderful sunsets. The only drawback is a lot of people whore selling something and are annoying. Because of this its not so easy just to seat and look at the ocean.

Enough space to swim , beautiful coast line

Water close to beach is very busy with Jetski and boats. Proper swimming is not possible without risking getting rolled over by the vessels. Beach is - still - beautiful and water is - still - clean enough. Tides do not affect the possibility to take a bath. However, i saw fishermen passing on a boat dumping plastic waste right into the water. There needs to be more awareness amongst the local community about their environment they depend on. We had to enter a hotel area with deck chairs since the beach boys will not leave you in alone.

The best beach on the island, the blue colour is breathtaking. There are however many different sellers, begging kids and mostly Russian tourists.

Really an amazing beach. Note that you will be talked to by someone trying to sell you something every 2 minutes. The trick here is: stay friendly & talk to them - it’s so much fun to know these people, and even if you do t buy anything, they always stay friendly. So don’t worry, Hakuna Matata !

Top notch beach. White sand, blue ocean, palm and crabs. Surrounded by hotel, Watersport, bars and restaurants, hammock and chairs are readily available for use. Be careful about ppl always trying to sell you things, dont pay them until you receive the goods or services.

A good sandy beach, almost no low tide, white sand, blue water, but the ocean is immediately deep. Many put this beach in first place in Zanzibar, but I would put it in second place, I would give the first place to the beaches in Nungwi.

Great gorgeous beach. Beautiful views, warm ocean, white sand. Kendwa has the best beaches on the entire island, no low tide. I got there by car from Stone Town, a distance of about 60 km. The road is good, only the last couple of kilometers of African off-road, but its worth it.
