Absolutely wonderful experience here for our honeymoon. The room was fantastic, grounds were gorgeous and staff was unbelievable. Super close to the crater so was great to make this location home base for a few days. Food from the farm onsite was so tasty. Can’t wait to figure out when we are coming back!
Very professional, very polite. My partner went for a walk to the elephant caves and, an hour later, has not run out of exciting tales. It is expensive to stay overnite but a day visit should be within reach of any visitor and well worth the investment.
We had the most amazing honeymoon stay with Gibbs farm, special outdoor dinner, bracelets, champagne and pralines in the room. The room was simply amazing with a cozy fireplace and a nice bathtub. The dinner and breakfast were really really great. We wish we could have stayed longer!
The Gibb’s Farm is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. It’s authentic, quiet and relaxing. The hotel is surrounded by its vegetable gardens and coffee plantation. The food is amazingly tasty, fresh and almost everything comes from the farm. The chef manages to make the most out of the vegetables and other products of the farm to deliver delicious dishes. 🥬🥦🌽I definitely advise you to do the garden and plantation walk with someone form the hotel who will explain everything about their products. The hotel staff was very kind and always ready to help. There is wifi in the main building. The rooms were beautiful. The only negative thing I would say is that the beds weren’t the best…In general I definitely advise you to stay at Gibbs farm during your Tanzanian trip!
There is no words for this place. I can’t even get close to explain how wonderful the experience has been for us at Gibb’s Farm. For the moment that we stepped into the farm they made our day an absolutely experience. We were received with a welcome drink and a tour. Then we were directed to our room and let me tell you, the farm is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen in my live and our room/house was absolutely stunning. For dinner they organized for me and my husband and amazing honeymoon dinner and they surprised us with champagne and the fire place on in our room when we came back. Again, a few words can’t explain how amazing this place has been to us showing also inclusivity with the LGBTQi community. Thank you son much.
This is my favorite place on the planet. In my perfect world, I’d spend a month here helping in the garden - and I don’t even like to garden. It’s an oasis.
Awesome place with interesting history, high quality food and coffee. We stopped by for a tour but wish we had the opportunity to stay longer. Beautiful place ❤️
Very well maintained, well designed. Really great taste.
An amazing place. The views are unmatched and it would be hard to find somewhere more tranquil to spend a couple days. They offer an abundance of activities from hikes in the area to birdwatching to mountain bike rides. You can get a tour of the farm and watch the pigs go crazy as they are fed. The food is out of this world, the freshness is immediately apparent, the lunch buffet is delicious and the dinner portions are perfect. Finally the staff are a highlight, so willing to explain more about the farm and share their knowledge. We will definitely be back.
One of the most incredible places Ive ever visited. The setting, staff, and food were all amazing. Hope to have an opportunity to return at some point down the road. Gibbs is a truly special, one-of-kind place.
I only review the farm (including tour) and the lunch. The farm is astonishingly well maintained and large. Its impressive to see everything grown there and how it is maintained. The lunch was incredible, abundance of choice and a true luxury. Definitely a perfect place to relax
The best place to stay in the Ngorongoro Crater area hands down! Safari can be tiring and this farm gives you the opportunity to totally relax and enjoy the incredible views and atmosphere. The food is organic and absolutely delicious. A heap of activities are included as well so highly recommend staying at least 3 nights and then going for 1 day to the crater 1 day to relax and enjoy the farm, and then there are lots of walks as well. Cannot recommend enough!!
I’ve stayed here 4 times now and every visit just gets better. 1st visit was with a friend and we were told to book the private bungalow.....worth every penny and it’s the only way to go. All food served is grown organically on the property. They even grow there own coffee. Lots of folks use this as a resting spot after their Kilimanjaro climb or before they visit the Ngorongro Crater, which is a must see. My children loved playing in the gardens and every evening we would sit around the fire enjoying popcorn and telling stories. You won’t go wrong with this place and it’s worth every penny, just pay it.
Gibbs Farm will always be the first place I recall when I think about paradise on earth. It is so breathtakingly beautiful set against a serene landscape. The property is extremely well laid out, the service is impeccable, the food is locally grown and prepared on site. The rooms are themed after the region with artifacts and amenities to remind you of where you are in the world. The service provided by the staff surpassed my expectations with much thought given to guest comfort. No safari is complete without this oasis as a stop off to renew the spirit, body, and soul!
Gibbs Farm exceeded our expectations! We had a few friends tell us separately to stay at Gibbs Farm after roughing it for 5 days in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We are glad we heeded their advice! It was definitely a splurge for us, but it was worth every penny for the two nights we stayed. They upgraded us to a 2 room suite, which was just so beautifully decorated and cozy. In the afternoons, we took a short nap, had some wine, milked some cows, and played croquette. The meals and afternoon tea time were sublime! And the coffee? I regret not buying more than 4 bags. Its tough to go back to regular coffee. After having seen the wild animals of the parks, it was nice to slow down and take a hike around the farm and outside. We took a guided hiked and passed coffee farms. It was still the dry season so the waterfall didnt have water. (But well come back when its low season and wet just to see that falls!) We collected eggs after our walk, and then did some crafty activities like make recycled paper and take an art class from the artist in residence, who was at that time from Zanzibar. (Majish, who has a gallery behind the House of Wonders in Stone Town.)There is plenty to do at Gibbs Farm so make sure you stay at least 2 nights!
Wonderful historic working plantation. The rooms were the most beautiful Ive ever stayed in. Fantastic views, indoor and outdoor showers, ensuite bath, fireplace for living area and bathroom. Beautiful lush foliaged pathways, lots of birds, lots of activities. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food.

Authentic and honest warm welcome, great food, beautiful quiet and very comfortable suites, superior service. Nice activities. All personal wishes are taken into account and taken into account at the moment. Both the management and everyone on the staff deliver truly exceptional service. Really nothing is too much. This kind of luxury hotels is rare. There is really nothing negative to say. Only thing we regret is we didnt stay here longer, 5 nights would have been better. We stayed here for 3 nights in January 2022 after our stay at &Beyond Ngorongoro crater lodge with 7 adults and 4 children and had 4 rooms and 1 house. All the rooms and the house were in perfect order and actually just as good.
An incredible place everything is perfect. Impeccable service that goes with meals sublime accommodation
Fascinating Hacienda. Wondrous coffee plantations. One of oneThe most incredible places to sleep in Tanzania.I would go back again and again
The grounds, villas and restaurant are decorated with a special atmosphere. There is a coffee plantation here, we personally learned the whole process of making coffee. In the restaurant, meals are prepared from vegetables and livestock grown on the farm. The chef deserves special attention - he is incredibly friendly, cheerful and constantly wanted to feed us wherever they were😅 (he is on the video)A farm is a special emotion a pig in the mud, to be honest, I wanted to join him 😁 The view from the restaurant and the pool to the mountains and coffee is a delight for the eyes.Fireplace in the room, well, its always love.As for the service - everything is thought out to the smallest detail. In the evening, for gatherings near the fireplace, they brought heating pads under our legs, and they prepared the room for bed.
Chalets are large and equipped with every comfort. Fireplace in the bedroom and bathroom. Very large and comfy bed. In the bathroom there is a bathtub and a shower. Another shower is located outdoors. High level international cuisine. Nice swimming pool. Around a huge park with hundreds of plants and flowers. Beautiful view of the cafe plantations. Attentive and very kind staff. Possibility of organizing various activities. Wi Fi in common areas
Lodge in a self-sufficient colonial-style farmhouseThe welcome is very warm, the cuisine sublimeYou can walk in the different gardens of the farm as well as in the coffee plantation, which is excellent by the way ...
Magical place by its location. The rooms are sumptuous and the fireplace is a plus during the austral winter ...The table is exceptional! The best rabbit in the world.Just perfect with a high quality service. Stay too short!
Did the tour through the plantation and then had lunch. That was sensational. The best food in Tanzania ever and hardly eaten so delicious in Germany. The Lidge is awesome
Very nice location where green reigns supreme. Not excellent food.
Beautiful hotel, with coffee plantation. Everything spectacular
