It really worth it to go there. A Center to buy products made out of kitenge. The ladies are doing an amazing job. You can find different products from trousers over elephants to laptop bags. The prices are very fair!

Amazingly lovely handcrafts that keep their shape and function very well. Very affordable prices. The people who work here are super welcoming and you can see their workshop on site. The cooperative has a great social mission too. Spread the word about Matumaini!

The women who work here are incredibly kind and helpful. All of the products are well-made and beautiful! The centre has such a wonderful mission. I cant wait to go back when Im in Iringa next time!

Amazing center with a great diversity of beautiful hand-crafted items made from kitenge: tote bags, pencil and laptop cases, backpacks, lovely stuffed animals, clothes, batiks fabrics... Perfect for gifts and cheaper than Neema Craft. And the workshop and shop are in the same big room, so you can see the ladies (who come from a reintegration program for socialy disadvantaged women) sewing the products, and listen to them singing.Definitely a place to visit in Inriga !

Since 1990, the Matumaini Center has been granting girls and young women, who do not have access to educational opportunities due to domestic violence, unwanted pregnancies or orphans, the opportunity to take a certified dressmaker training to earn their own living. In addition, they receive u.a. still English lessons and an introduction to using a computer.Some of these trained dressmakers have joined together to form a cooperative and sell in the center self-made, high-quality products from Kitenge such as bags, laptop, tablet and mobile phone cases but also aprons, very cute animals and dolls and much more at very fair prices.Definitely worth a visit, a support of the project as well. And those who stayed at home are looking forward to a nice authentic souvenir.
