Two companions and I just spent a month with Leons looking for and finding Tanzania’s key species of birds. I’ve been birding worldwide for almost 40 years and have used many guides. Leons ranks among the very best. He knows all the locations, and can spot birds near and far by both sight and sound. He is congenial and completely dependable in all facets of of such a trip, from wrestling a Land Rover up the roughest roads to arranging a porters to carry your gear up to high forest camps. He has my highest recommendation.

I hired Leons for my ornithological fieldwork. Thanks to him, my fieldwork was a great success. He is very nice and polite person. He is also good at speaking English and has a wide variety of knowledge about birds (of course other animals and Tanzania cultures too). His guide is so clear, informative and interesting. We had an amazing two week safari in the southern circuit visiting parks, historical monuments, hiking and beach at Lake Malawi. Leons was a competent and dependable organizer, driver and guide. He is a really nice guy and we always enjoyed his company.
