Horombo hut is strictly for hikers and mountain climbers in particular. There are no creature comforts at all. I saw some developments. Hopefully, theres better accommodation in future.
They keep it totally clean including the lavatories. There is enough space for your luggages and it is situated in a beautiful spot. However, the houses amplify the steps and voices, insulation is not good.
3720m up above sea level. Horombo Huts is the busiest camp siteeven more so that Kibo. It caters to hikers going up from Marangu Router and down from various routes. The huts are nice, and the toilets are the best you will see in the whole week! There are real toilets here... and reasonably clean. but after being on hike for 5 days it felt like a 5 star hotel. If you are ascending, than enjoy the last day of a real toilet. There is even cellphone signal here!Campers also share the site with lodgers. The view in the morning is beautiful, like walking on clouds. literally.
Horombo Huts are 3720m up above sea level on the way up with the Marangu / Coca Cola Route. The accommodation is lodging and around 6 people per roomThere is a mess / lunch hall which porters and guides will set up for different groups to have meals. There are toilets here which are in good condition (i.e. tiled and some running tank water)There is no electrical power outlets for you to charge your phones, there is telephone reception here (Data as well)There are also spaces for people who are camping on their way up to the peak.
3720m elevation..here is where you start to feel the bite of cold (if you are coming from warm areas), but still, a life time experience and worth it
It Cold!, starting point to feel heavy from the elevation. While walking, thinking, talking
Very nice and beautiful ant and it is a big village
Gr8 cabins, clean and nice gokd lavatories, gr8 place
Higher in altitude, Kilimanjaro is already visible, lungs are going through the adjustment period, a little headache - that was my first impression. The views are in fact magnificent on sunset and sunrise! Takes a day for a good acclimatization so enjoy it! Was personally impressed by the fresh food and warm water. Potters work really hard to enjoy you stay warm and cozy! Pay it forward!
It is good to be here cause there is good weather condition its real cold and I love this route
Horombo huts campsite is an accommodation camp that is located along the Marangu route of mt. Kilimanjaro. It is one of the largest on the mountain as well as one of the few with both cabin accommodation as well as a separate area for pitching tents. It is the second campsite from the start of the route or Marangu gate, and is normally used by hikers on the Marangu route during both ascent and descent, as well as descending climbers on the Rongai route.Altitude: 3720 m.a.m.s.l.

Good experience
Unforgettable
A campsite that stops on the second day of climbing Kilimanjaro. The construction of the mountain lodge is basically the same as the mandala hat.I also eat dinner in a place like the cafeteria building. At this point, the height is about 3,700m, so there are only alpine plants. There are few creatures, so the night was very quiet unlike the mandala hat.If you plan to travel the Marangu route for 4 nights and 5 days, stay overnight here when descending the mountain.
Hostel located on the Coca Cola Route leading to Kilimanjaro. Very nice views both downwards and towards kilimanjaro. There are mice running around in the canteen but you can get used to it. Standard houses as on the whole route. Bathrooms relatively clean for this height but there are no miracles to expect. New houses are being built.
At 3700M altitude is Horombo Hut, which is the second camp on the route to Kilimanjaro called Marangu, considered the easiest for sleeping in cabins and not in tents like the rest of the routes. The camp is small cabins that can accommodate up to 4 people, equipped with a mattress and a small pillow for each person. In the camp we also find a bunkhouse that serves as a dining room and meeting place. The bathrooms are modest. In this camp you sleep both when ascending and descending Kilimanjaro.
Fine place, good network coverage in some places so you can use the internet. Clean houses, toilets too. Cool sunsets
Appropriate. Nice location.
The toilet is clean. There is also a mountain hut with a power supply.
Nice hut ewas four of us but nice. Toilets only to stand.

Just like a fairyland
