It was a very nice tour. Ibrahim told us a lot about the different spices and fruits. The entrace costs 10.000 tzs for the community and additional tips for the guides and butterfly man. You can also buy nice perfume or soap and also spices. I can really recommend it.Tip: You can easily get there by daladala from stone town - number 522 kianga or ask for dole. Its very cheap (500 tsz per way)
Tour itself was great, but we were disappointed that we just came and they told us we need to tip them at the end. The entrance is 10 000 TZN so relatively cheap comparing to rest of spice farms. You can reach it easily by dala dala from Stone town (522 to Kianga). Our guide was really good and new a lot. He presented a lot of spices, butterfly man who climbed up the coconut tree and they give you a typical hat made of leaves. It was great but the general feeling was they wouldnt have done it without thinking of tips.
Anyone visiting Zanzibar should go to the Shabuta Spice Tour, it was very educational and I learnt a lot of new things. All natural plants and herbs were thoroughly explained.Had a great time.
That is among of the best farm here in Zanzibar. Kindly, I would like to recommend to visit in SHABUTA SPICE FARM. Where you will go to learn allot abt spices, with a nice view in a beautiful round of the farm. Their people are so charming and humble for any activity which take place. Vary shops for spices and local product ( Natural cosmetic shops ) and get a chance to watch Mr.Butterfly or ( Local Pilot ) who will show how to climb a coconut tree and singing a nice song without to forget to taste tropical fruits of Zanzibar.Lets be together in this season.
This experience was amazing. Abdur Rahman was an amazing guide... And his friend who made amazing crafts with his hands, such as crowns, baskets etc were superb.
Hate it
