Donbosco Teschnical Institute Dodoma i slocated at Miyuji Dodoma.This is the best institute to learn technical courses sucha as ICT, Masonry, Solar Energy, Fitter Mechanics, Eletrical, Welding etc.Don Bosco Technical Institute was established in 1982 in Dodoma through the cooperative efforts of the Archdiocese of Dodoma, the Salesians of Don Bosco Eastern Africa and three funding donors: Miserior (Germany), VIA Don Bosco (Belgium) and CEBEMO (Holland). All this was with aim of empowering young people with a trade of their choice.A small and humble beginning with about ten boys in welding department has grown to be well-equipped and full-fledged technical institute. Apart from imparting trade to these young boys and girls who attend our institute we provide them spiritual,cultural and physical formation. We accept boys and girls in all the departments after having completed their or secondary school. We take up production works in all the departments with purpose of training in production and self-sustenance.The school now has a student population of about 1750 of which 612 students are following three year course VETA systems level one to Level three while other are attending 6 – 12 months apprenticeship program supported by the Government of Tanzania. At present the institution offers training in different trades that includes; Carpentry and Joinery, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Plumbing and Pipe Fittings (PPF), Masonry and Bricklaying, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Fitter Mechanics, Electrical Installation, Tailoring and Dress Making, Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and renewable energy Aluminium Works and Driving School.The institute is meant to train young men and women with a vision of making those self-reliant citizens either by employment in the industries or self-employment. This is considered important because it lays the foundation for young people to be economically self-sufficient and improve the quality of their lives.
