New Hotel. Affordable, & comfortable. The staff is very respectful & responds to any requirement immediately.. Good for Non-vegetarians as chef is local Tanzanian. Food is a issue for Vegetarians. Wifi connection is a issue. Check hot water before checking in.

The la stanar hotel is not far from the street. clean, friendly. very friendly and helpful staff. especially Juma from the reception. He made sure that I felt very comfortable in the hotel. merry from the restaurant was very helpful with the menu selection and the food was very good

Nice place with kind staff. I was missing some more attention to detail on the room maintenance. It takes some minutes for warm water to come out of the shower, it was not possible to get hot water in the shower.

Its a beautiful place, quiet and secluded, for peace of mind, the staff were friendly, rooms and customer service are a exceptional, breakfast had a wide range of choices, i stayed there for 2 nights, enjoyed my stay especially watching the sunset from their bar, the owner Mr. Stanley a down to earth person, was very friendly and warmly welcomed guests whenever he was around, there were no issues that werent resolved on time and with satisfactory results. Generally the hotel offers good value for money, i will definately come back.

My experience here was not good. Ill state the pros and the cons and my personal experience.Pros:Its in a convenient location.Its a new building.The price is reasonable compared to nearby hotels.Cons:Its a new business and the management doesnt have a clue of how to conduct business especially running a hotel.The room doors have glass above the door and the outside hall light was kept on the entire night. I prefer lights off when Im sleeping. This was a nuisance to me.We had a room on the first floor and there were no curtains blocking the large and low sitting bathroom window. There were many people passing by our windows even though our room was located at the back corner away from common trafficking areas. There was no privacy when bathing or using the toilet.I was told there was hot water when we were booking, but there was no hot water the entire time.There is an electricity/power card given to guests that is required to provide electricity to the room. There is also a mini fridge in the room. The electricity card must be removed and surrendered to the front desk clerk each time you leave your room. So, the fridge loses its power source and your food remains at room temperature. It takes time for any refrigerator to get its temperature up to a set cooling point. So, unless you plan on remaining in your room 24hours this has got to be the dumbest idea for power management.My husband ordered food (rokm service) one night at 6pm. An hour later he went to inquire on the hold up and found that the staff had NEVER began making the food. Then they told him they would prepare it. He received it an hour after that. Bottom line, be prepared to wait 2 hours for room service.The room key (along with the electricity card) is required to be submitted to the front desk clerk everytime you leave and you have to wait for someone at the front desk to reissue it to you when you return in order to get back in your room. This was very uncomfortable for me considering that I have my personal belongings in there and them taking the key is also a way for them to keep my belongings.Ive been in Tanzania for a year and have dealt with many fraudulent and theft encounters with room and board via hotels and Airbnb. I had my husband complain because he is much softer with his verbal delivery (I speak with authority).I spoke with the manager after that and she asked hs about cleaning the room. We had only been there one night and only used the tea cup so I looked her in her eyes and said we didnt want or need anyone to clean the room. She understood and agreed. However, when we returned 2 hours later we were met with 2 people re-making our bed. This happened again the next day even though I told the front desk clerk that I do not want anyone in our room while we were gone. The 3rd time we were still in the room when a woman came in saying she was there to clean. On another occasion two people from the front desk called the room for no reason and said it was a mistake. And at another time someone randomly called after 10pm asking if we had a problem. The next morning our water pressure was dropped extremely low while my husband was showering and washing his long hair. He was very upset, but wont vocalize it to them. How many offenses are needed for proper management of staff?The day my husband ordered room service he paid the woman who brought the food to the room. It was a light skinned black woman. He even gave her a tip when she clearly didnt deserve it after making him wait 2 hours (There were only 6 customers in the hotel. I saw it on the computer while waiting for the front desk clerk to give us our cards to reenter our room). When we checked out and left the hotel manager called and accused us of leaving without paying for the room service he ordered. At this point I was done holding my tongue and had to tell her about her bad management.Book at your own risk.
