Do not expect anything of this place. I’m not quite sure what to make of the zoo. At times it feels like a random collection of 6 animals being housed in someone’s very big back garden. Firstly, it’s poorly signed. I mistook it for a graveyard the first time around. I felt incredibly sad for the animals. The tortoise looked like they hadn’t eaten in months, I’ve never see tortoises move so fast at the sight of food. The only highlight was getting up close and personal to feed the giraffe. The other animals include hyenas, baboons, some snakes and wilder beast. There are no zebras here. The place is absolutely run down. You need a guide to show you around as it’s not obvious where the animals are located. There’s no information on any of the animals. No food facilities here. It was absolutely dead on a weekday. At one point I questioned how secure the enclosures were!

Went after 2 years very disappointed to see main attraction of the Zoo🦁 Lion and giraffe 🦒 is missing 😢

It is quite small compare to DSM zoo but you can hav fun with turtles-age of 100 year and giraffe . The enterence fee is affordable , good place for kids and animal lover.Dont forget to take a pic with turtle ..

I was there last year, summer 2015. It was sad to visit. Few kind of animals, small cages, a poor enterprise, probably lacking enough financing. But interesting in a way. In some kind of backward way I Iiked it.

It is a normal place but good to visit with family to see some wild animal like Lion, Giraffe, snake etc

The zoo itself is very bleak. There is a lioness, a couple of hyenas, some hungry turtles and some very skinny monkeys. You can tour the whole zoo in less than 20 minutes. But the children did enjoy feeding the large and smaller turtles. There used to be a giraffe there last year that we could feed as well but he wasnt there this time. The entrance fee is reasonable, 2000tsh per child and 5000tsh per adult.

Great animals but they need more care, more food they are suffering

If you are looking for a deeply quit place. That will be the perfectly one. But if you tried to relax you will find a lot of ants around you. I think also thats the only place that they have a giraffe with few numbers for other animals like lions, monkeys, birds and others. The dont have any services inside like foods and drinks.

The place requires a good manament team...but does hold potential to become great. Just a little bit of time of effort required and a larger area. All in all a good quiet zoo.

The zoo is very neglected, the access road is unpaved. On the Internet they write that the ticket costs 5,000, and on the spot they say 10,000 Scammers.

Nice but very boring

Zoo is un natural. It is exactly prison of animals. It is inhuman to cage wild free animals like this or else. Let the animals live freely in their habitation. My be we urban sheepls like zoo cos we live like them in restricted access cities

The animals look miserable in their dirty and tiny enclosures , the environment is depressing and the two guides are incompetent. It is a very depressing and boring place. Animal rights activists should shut it down.

I visited after searching on internet genuinelyBut sadly its very small and only 7 to 10 animals and very small area like 1000 meter , not worth according to money 10000 TSH per person too expensiveGiraffe ,poor lion, hyena , turtles and some birds onlyAnd I was shocked when enter in this area cannot call Zoo its not Zoo atall its personal farm with poor maintanance and very far from my appartment spent 50000 TSH to reach there and coming back 50000 TSH total spent 100000 Transport and 52000 zoo chargesOver all 1 star that is also for awesome 2 giraffesDont go not recommended atallThank youMoiz Lokhandwala

Nice place for zoo tanzania and kenya u wish to go safari go these two counries

Poor.. most of all the lion is very skinny.. the owner should invest more on the heath status of wild animals kept there

The lions and hyenas are in a very bad state,they are not fed well and their cages are very small. They are sick and not being treated nicely.

Unbelievable wildlife outdit in the city. You need not travel long and scavenge the hinter land to see lion , monkey, giraffe., tortoise, black cobra and... you mention

Its really SAD.. The state the zoo is maintained.. Theres soo much potential.. But the place is deserted.. There no sign boards, no information.. It was disappointing..
