This was our third African safari - the first in Tanzania. After reading reviews of operators, we chose nodven safari. An outstanding choice. From the beginning, patrick helped develop an itinerary that was tailored to our needs and budget. He never pushed upgrades but always tried to find the best options. I dont know how he doesnt tire from all of the questions, but he never seemed to. He is a wealth of information and an expert at logistics.Then we had to choose a guide. I really liked the reviews of samwel kweka- he seemed like our kind of guide. Smart, funny and committed to the animals and environment. So we went with sam. He was nothing short of spectacular. A joy to spend 11 days with, full of information about the country and the animals. Always trying to maximize our experiences and going out of his way to help us. At the same time, his love of his country and his animals was always clear. Further, we decided he had binoculars in-bedded in his eyes - he could see things that no normal person would see without a telescope!.From beginning to end, this trip was spectacular and exceeded our exceptions in every way. I cant recommend Nodven safaris highly enough and Sam is truly an exceptional guide and friend.

I think the owner, Patrik, is a good guy and has a good background, but until I change, I wouldnt recommend it. When we were in Ngorongoro I had not paid the stay or the entrance to the crater, and we had to disburse us the money, paying with a credit card a large amount of money, the guide told us that he was giving problems with the money throughout the safari . Finally, he returned our money to us, but this meant that we were left after the safari at an Arusha site and that he returned the money in shillings (which is uncomfortable because we didnt need more cash). I have to add that he asked me to bring him some € 98 shoes and when I was there I had no money to pay them, so I had to return with my shoes to Spain and eat them during the whole trip.
