Small but busy place all the time with few seats inside. You can pass-by it without recognizing there is a t-shop here. I took the best chai of the town with a tiny sweet cake which costs only 5000 TZS (2 cups of tea and cake). The staffs are mixed between old men and youngsters who cant speak English but show their best support with body language and big smiles.

Located in the middle of the city, quaint and one of the coldest (if not the oldest) tea shops in Dar es salaam. Delicious spiced tea, snacks, friendly service and very affordable prices.

You get to eat some great kebabs, samosa, rumali roti. The service is good however not enough pace to sit. You can have takeaway and enjoy on the go. There are a lot more stuff on the menu. Remember to check there are around 2-3 shops next to each other where one of them takes order and the other two are dine-in space.

Small place. Duration to get food (chips & mayai) was 10 minutes. Reasonable.Food selection is limited. But tasty.I took takeway and honestly, the takeaway bag was clean and professional including a pakcet of tomato sauce and another one for salad. Its worth a revisit.

One of the most, if not, the most famous Tea shop in Tanzania, with its 80s-90s setup, nothing fancy, pretty much a small corridor with a few tables and chairs. It has this unique vibe, with witty waiters and regular customers im groups discussing everyday topics. The samosas and the kebabs are my favorites, with the coconut chutney and slices of lemon on the side. The tea is strong, full of flavors from different tea leaves. They even have unsweetened tea for diabetics or anyone who doesnt use sugar. Overall a nice experience.

Best Tea Shop in town. Its famous for its Kebabs, Samosas and Chai. They offer a wide variety of local delights. Their service is excellent and youll never wait too much for your order. The only drawback is the seating area. There are only 3 tables with 3 chairs each.

I had gone on a public holiday and it was booming with customers, what you get is an authentic experience with local food made on the spot. Dont be fooled by its small size, the food and chai is exceptional and will leave your heart wanting more. The place could be slightly cleaner, but given how busy they were, its forgivable.Things to try:Fried KababMeat SamosaTeaMixFollow my Instagram for more reviews on all things Africa! @jamilrajani

K. Tea Shop has quite a heritage/legacy in Dar es Salaam. It has the best kebabs and samosas, while the meat chop and the masala tea are also a must!!Gets very busy due to the demand, and is a rather small tea room... so if you are claustrophobic, this may not be the place for you, but if you can brave this space constraint, the snacks will definitely be worth it.

Hands down, K Tea shop makes the best kebabs in dar! There are the most delicious treats. The service is very nice, as soon as you walk in, your order is received and you immediately get served. The theme of the shop is very historic, it feels like you are in India or something.

Review №49

Well known for its fried meatballs (kababs) and tea. Been around forever and is a local favourite. However there is little improvement made to thebinfustructure over the years. Still the same old furniture and very little facilitation for families. Foods good although might be served cold sometimes. You can always send it back and get it heated or changed. As for the service, waiters are great if they know you and if you dont know how the system works here you might just be standing around for hours. Best to go with a local. Hope that helps.

A must-visit stop on a walk through the city center. A plate of world-famous kebabs and a cup of the masala tea is the classic order. Don’t mind the peeling paint, old furniture and worn down look - it’s all part of the ambience. Stop by for a quick breakfast or evening tea.

I cant even write a review for this place. A hidden hole in the wall type restaurant which serves small bites. But it is legendary. No one else (probably on the planet) hits perfection to this degree. Despite their understated appearance, it has been featured in many legit publications. Munchies/Vice recently did a feature. Try the kebabs and masala chai, youll never forget it.

Youll find some of the best samosas, kebabs, and chai at a nondescript tea shop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. To get there, head to Kisutu, the citys historically Indian neighborhood, and then make your way to Chagga Street. If its nighttime, zigzag through the burning metal drums until you reach the silhouetted crowd. Or, if its day, look for the hole in the wall crammed tight with every type of Tanzanian—Hindu, Muslim, Christian, white, black, and brown.Youll know you have arrived when you smell the almost-half-a-century-old aroma of fried dough and sweet milk. The place is named K.T. Shop, and its where locals have been getting their Indian snack fix since 1968.
