If you do please share with us your experience!Back to it, this Valentines date was @hamurestaurantIts their food Im talking about today 😂 because whats a proper date without good food? 🥘📌On the Menu: Fillet Diane ( beef fillet disks were flavored with rosemary, roasted veg, and black pepper sauce) served with French fries🍟.📌See the beef fillets 🤤😋 melt-in-your-mouth tender piece of steak. The meat is very fine-grained in texture as well as low in fat, which makes it both buttery and mild in flavor.📌Fries were properly frenching 🍟🍟 the black pepper sauce 👌🏽 on point!🍷 : Peefectly served is that Red wine is what you should choose to go with a steak. Its easy to remember – red meat gets red wine. Hamu restaurant is serene with good ambience and my friends and I enjoyed dinner there last Saturday night around 8pm. It was our first time there and they told us theres a band that plays on Sundays, so well be looking to going back on a Sunday for the band music. We loved our starters, cocktails and mocktails. One of us ordered steak as the mains which turned out quite tough unfortunately and had to be returned to the kitchen. The chef cordially requested her to order something else and she was happy with the replacement meal. We loved how they handled this with no wahalla at all. Kudos. All other meals were good and the tuna & orange salad I ordered was excellent 😋. It was not full/crowded when we went which was a plus, given the pandemic.

Every time I am in Dar, I HAVE to make a stop at Hamu!! The food is so delicious and the cocktails will hit the spot too - try the lobster and a gin cocktail. They also have live music different days of the week that creates a feel good mood. Do yourself a favor and go to Hamu - thank me later! :)

Hamu in kiswahili means appetite and desire.. Its not just an ordinary restaurant, its a combination of italian culture and the tanzanian ocean homemade dishes. It offers the best Drinking Bistro

The ambiance of the Restaurant is surely one of the better in DAR. Lovely stylish place with good friendly service. Some interesting dishes but the menu is also a bit old fashioned. A mix of fresher and modern prepared dishes would do the place good and make a real food eatery.The Cocktails where all good. Where again the Aperol Spritz was missing the Spritz but Gin Tonic and Piña Colada looked very nice and was well done. We where four people and pity not the drinks and not the food was being served at the same time.The starters Veggie Tempura nice and crispy, dont buy a sweet an sour sauce, make something interesting that would make the dish better. The shrimps very tasty and real fun to eat. The babaganoush... It was an aubergine mash with tomato crostini now as a dish it was nice and we all enjoyed. My problem is that if you call it babaganoush then there is a certain expectation of this dish and that was not fulfilled. Again the dish was a such very tasty and nice, but name it differently so people dont order something that they will not get.The Mains all ok, but also to be honest nothing special. Basic. I had the chicken marsala and tasty but had a chicken marsala in Zanzibar that was much tastier and much more aromas... They where just ok.I believe this place has so much more potential and have the feeling that some years ago a chef has put the Menu and when he left it was kept and no new influences have come in and they have been deteriorated slowly to become more and more basic.The desserts.... Some of the best I have eaten in DAR and very nice presented. One feedback, make the Tiramisu a bit less sweet and a bit more espresso in it and it would be amazing.

Visited this place for the first time, it had nice service and I enjoyed the food very much. I had a half roast chicken cooked in rosemary and Mediterranean herbs (of which am not a fan of) and roast potatoes while my friend had chicken lemon breasts and roast potatoes. They have good wine as well as mojitos (but if you order mojito, you better clarify if you want non-alcoholic or alcoholic one).The food was up to standard and the enough for one person plus it is at reasonable price.The ambiance of the place is cool and it has interior setting and exterior setting. Set at Haile Selassie Rd, it is unmissable. For those who crave restaurants which are cool and extravagant, this is the place they should go!Their service is good and your order gets on your table for not longer than 20mins

The place is very beautiful and the cocktails are pretty great. Its full on a Friday night so call for reservations. Limited food menu, hoping they increase more dishes soon.

I went to with a friend for a dj event on a saturday evening when there were two live djs - one from canada and one from turkey; the music was great and the crowd/ambience was good. This is a good spot to go to grab drinks and just let loose, let your hair down and have a good time. check it out when there is a similar event available!

Great venue and fantastic food! There were a group of 8 of us. Fantastic array of Gin delights (drinks).Fantastic starters, mains choice from seafood, steaks, chicken to Pasta.Was really impressed.The chef and waiters really know there stuff! A must if you are in the area.

Food is ok, waitresses are a little odd though. They stood near my table and watched me eat while talking and laughing in their own language.Then they would look at my table again, make a remark and then burst out laughing.Totally unprofessional.

I loved the ambiance especially the valentines special decor, choice of music and the whole setup. Hamu staff were welcoming and friendly, keen to make us comfortable. The food was delicious too😄. I will definitely be back next time👌. And i thought the card was a lovely personal touch.

Excellent Italian talents with Tanzanian fish or meet. The new young Italian new chef did an outstanding Tiger Shrimp Soups followed by very delicious Barracuda fish, excellent presentations and a side dish of flat pasta with olive oil. My Italian guest was very impressed. Outstanding food, outstanding service, outstanding atmosphere and mixed Tanzanian & Foreign local clients. I give them 5 star.

If you want a fancy ambiance with some artisan cocktails. This is the place to go. Prices are close to higher scale. There is no elevator to go up to the restaurant so you got to use stairs which are abit unequal in footing. Has a desert menu which is limited and some bitting options. Limited outdoor sitting on the balcony but has couches, chairs and high chairs at the bar. Friendly staff who are helpful

With a young, hip, and often expat crowd Hamu is a cozy upscale place with prices to match. Although it has a food section on its menu, this may not be the place to get dinner. If you’re looking for a quiet space in this loud-weekend neighbourhood to have good conversation over some delicious cocktails: this might be just up your alley.

This is a new-ish place at the time of posting this review. It has an interesting menu, blending Italian-style cuisine with locally available ingredients. Its nice. A good environment and attentive staff.

Great ambiance and decoration. The owner is Italian and very involved in the daily activities including the kitchen. Great pastas and selection of drinks! It’s def worth a visit or few!

I must say they have really improve on the food.. The ambience has always been great but the food was not as good.. Gave it a second chance and this time the food was actually very good, the salad was on point and I enjoyed it... Will have to go back for some steak and give it a proper review....

Perfect getaway situated at the first floor, Hamu is the place you can have a quiet meal out alone or with your loved one(s). Beautiful interior designs. Some nights there is a live band performance. Whether for two or four, this is the place to enjoy your evening quietly.

I had a wonderful meal at Hamu on my first night in Dar es Salaam. Great live music, friendly staff and a wonderful menu. I highly recommend the Chicken Delight and Chicken Ramen.
