A hotel below expectationsThis hotel is a classic budget hotel with budget services. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the airport, but in an area where you do not want to leave the building at night.Our room was upstairs, with no elevator and no porter, and we had to carry the packages upstairs ourselves. The room is small and can accommodate a large bed only. The air conditioning is perfect, but there is no reading lamp above the bed. The bathroom is large and clean, but is used to be for for tiling.The view from the small terrace of the room is not beautiful. (S. pics.) You can smoke on the terrace, but if anyone came in, you have to close the door with a key immediately. (Im assuming because of the thieves.)Above the door is an interior window through which the corridor lamp lit my eyes all night, and I could sleep almost nothing. At the reception I received an explanation that there were guests who demanded that the light in their eyes shine but could have been turned off. I couldnt find any switch near the room.The breakfast room is a few square meters where the guest sits almost in front of the reception. Breakfast was not very selective and one of the two tables was full of dirty dishes and the other was eaten when we arrived. The waiter took away the dirty plates for a long time.When you asking for a late check-out, (which is common at an airport hotel), you have to pay a heavy surcharge, and various staff members said differently about both the check-out date and the fee to be paid.The hotel is cheap - approx. 52 EUR per day - but I think its not worth the price either. Within 2 km there are hotels approx. 70 EUR per day, which offers a much better service. If I had known that the standard was so low, I would have asked to book definitely a different hotel from my travel agency.

If you forget anything here there is a very high chance that you will never recover it. I am still waiting to be given back my jewelry which I forgot which I was requested to give the hotel one more day and now its more than two weeks without hearing from them.

Super friendly staff. Free airport shuttle. VERY clean facility. VERY clean rooms. A/C. Fan. Power. Lots of hot water. Very basic breakfast but will prepare eggs to order. Staff will try to answer positively to any request. Nice roof-top patio. Dont be put off by the street conditions to get here.

Smart place and the rooms are big. Though the kitchen is small we had good breakfast. The staff are friendly. Free shattle is provided to the airport. However the bathroom shower which next to the toilet wets everything such that after bathing the toilet paper and seat are all wet.

The good: close to airport, free airport pickup, takeaway breakfast made early specifically for usThe bad: very noisy in the early morning from about 5am with planes overhead; shower was cold; no way of blocking light from corridor from coming into room; credit card machine not working so forced to pay cash; receptionist didnt give us correct change until we forced the matter the next morning; hotel driver took us to a complete rogue at the port who knowingly overcharged us for ferry tickets to Zanzibar (saying we had to pay a $5 immigration tax on each ticket...a $20 total... he said it was a standard government fee but DO NOT FALL FOR THIS...there is nothing extra to pay expect for the ferry ticket fee, plus overcharged and lied about taxi services the other side in Zanzibar) and did nothing about this. All in all this left us vowing never to return to Airport Transit Lodges and to warn others not to use their services either.

This place is no frills but perfect for overnighting in Dar - free pickup is a luxury in a city that vastly overcharges taxis into town, and the rooms are small and cute. Be warned it is directly adjacent to a very, very loud mosque, and low flying planes. If you sleep deep, its perfect.

The first thing to note is that they offer an airport shuttle service for pick ups and drop off. The reception was well managed and the staff friendly and helpful. They insist on helping you with your bags and go the extra mile when it comes to your comfort and satisfaction. The air conditioner fitted in dvery room is a must for the heat.

Has a bed, air conditioning and power. My shower was cold but Im sure that was not usual, judging by other reviews. WiFi barely works. Restaurant takes an hour and a half to cook food, but the food is quite good. Food is ridiculously overpriced, though. No drinks or snacks available for purchase, and you wouldnt really want to leave the secure compound and go searching, as it is located in a slum. No currency exchange facility. Staff friendly and free airport transfer, which is nice. Very expensive for what it is.

We were super happy to stay at the Airport Transit Lodges, the Staff was very welcoming and friendly. They kindly took care of my Luggage for a week while traveling to Arusha for a Safari.We could get a late night dinner - we can truly recommend the beef stew - and the breakfast was fine for an early start before heading back to the airport and further an.Alltogether, we were happy with our stay and would definitely stay here again.Asante sana!

Close to the airport, complementary shuttle service, clean rooms and friendly staff. They should offer food packs to all guests instead of the complementary breakfast so that all guests can benefit from it regardless of their flight schedule.

Pros: Very nice and accommodating staff, clean well furnished room with an excellent shower - possibly the best in Tanzania I have seen so far. Planning on staying again and will be my go to hotel for outbound flight.Cons: Restaurant is pretty basic though and runs in Tanzanian time so it is a good idea to order in advance. There is WiFi but dont bother with it.

Hotel is just 3-4 min. drive from international airport. New finishing and furniture at the room. Reasonable price for accommodation and food. The owner cares about his guests and staff is really helpful. I can recommend the hotel to spend night for transit passengers.

We stayed at this hotel for the following mornings flight to Arusha. It is a small-sized three-bed bedroom. Friendly staffs and service. No alcohol is sold, but they went out to purchase for us. Since there are no shops area around here, we ordered some chickens and tilapia at the hotel.

Goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Being picked up and brought back to airport. The waking up in the middle of the night did not function quite so well. To be sure: take care of it yourself.

Adequate for transit through Dar to avoid the legendary traffic jams in the city. Very basic but clean , safe and close to the airport.

If you think to go there for sleep é few hours, you will be waste money: a lot of noises and loud music during the night. I never stay in a worse place.

Excellent hotel for transit. In our case, the transfer is 5 hours between flights. Its much nicer to sleep for a couple of hours than sitting at the airport.Very close to the airport. The hotel provides a free shuttle service.The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, there is no hot water, but it is stuffy enough and the tap water is not cold. There is an air conditioner. We didnt have time to try breakfast, although it is included.

Inedible foodThe rooms are ok, but of course it is noisy. You can hear the planes and several Imane calling to prayer - in the middle of the night.The worst is the food, it is completely inedible! I got the soup (completely salty) at the same time as the main course. In response to my protest, the woman said No problem. We have a microwave.
