Beautiful place, in the heart of the Masaki peninsula, offering a restaurant, atelier and art gallery, handicrafts shop in dar the same roof. The nicely restored old house and a canopy of big old trees, lends it a special charm. The food was surprisingly good, a fusion of African and Asian flavours, perfectly measured, and with no concessions. The portion size is perfect, allowing for gentle price, and leaving space for dessert. I highly recommend the café gourmand. An alfresco set up under the huge trees adds to the atmosphere. The shop is interesting, albeit slightly overpriced.....All in all, a very good experience.A spécial mention for our waiter who spoke French quite well......
Amazing place. Great service. Great food and drinks. First time Ive seen the social enterprise, cooperative retail concept come together so seamlessly with dining and beverage service. The Drum Cafe was empty when I was there so it felt like I had the place to myself. I can only imagine the positive energy at this spot when it fills up.
This is one of the most beautiful places I have been to in a long time. Only open for a month or so thus far, it combines a restaurant, bar, art workshops, co-working space, artist studio & beautiful store.Service is personal and exceptional, with Mikes team doing well under his supervision. Expect a lot of humour and banter. The menu changes periodically for a twist of adventure and seasonal ingredients. Superb flavour, unique combinations are unforgettable. If youre a foodie , this is a must try.The cocktail menu is extensive and experimental with a twist on classic cocktails.Theres a store run by Rebecca that stocks unique items by Tanzanian artists, with over 1300 registered artists. Items range from handmade photo frames, jewellery, to home decor and classical furniture pieces & fabrics.Plenty to do with the family, sat outside in the garden surrounded by canopies of trees that range from an old established baobab to a Tanzanian Christmas tree.Workshops are held for different craft-making and shortly a co-working space will be available.Excited to see how it develops in the next fee months. Definitely one of our new favourites.
Its aim is to promote Tanzanian art and crafts and empowering local artisans. They sell homeware, gifts and fashion accessories such as bangles, hand made pups, cheese boards, local baskets, hand made heart candles, African necklaces, hand fans, blankets, those are just few to mention. They have good services and every welcoming.
All beautiful, nice environment, good place for a date, cultural previews, dinning or a day for a little peace of mind.
