Make sure to carry your ID if going for official purpose. Also, like all other government offices in Tanzania, adhere to the dress code. Generally tops and bottoms that dont expose too much skin. Office has very friendly staff.

The National Environmental Management and Conservation Council (NEMC) was established by the National Environmental Management Act No. 19 of 1983 as a tool to advise the government on issues of sustainable environmental stewardship. The Council officially began operation in 1986. Act no. 19 of 1983 was repealed in 2004 by the Environmental Management Act No. 20 of 2004 (Chapter 191) which established the Council once again. This new law gave the Council the legal power to regulate the countrys conservationSince its inception the Council has been overseeing and advising the government on the whole issue of environmental protection in the country. Pursuant to section 17 of the Act, the main purpose of establishing this Council is to coordinate the implementation of environmental policies and legislation in four main areas: - Implement the enforcement and compliance activities of the Environmental Management Act; Supervise the Environmental Impact Assessment (TAM) process (Coordinate, review TAM reports from project owners and monitor its implementation); Facilitate public participation in environmental decision-making and overall management and coordinate all environmental issues in accordance with the Environmental Management Act and any other written Laws.In addition, section 18 (2) of the Environmental Management Act, provides a comprehensive analysis of the responsibilities of the Council as follows: - Conducting environmental audits, conducting assessments that will assist in conservation and management, conducting research and coordinating research environment, monitor, evaluate and collect information and research results disseminate to stakeholders, review and make recommendations to facilitate the adoption of TAM reports / reports), identify projects or programs that need to be audited and monitored (Audit and Monitoring)Encourage and ensure the management and compliance of national standards in law enforcement, Establish effective measures aimed at preventing and controlling accidents that may cause environmental damage and devise ways to rehabilitate damaged areas, Implement programs aimed at providing environmental education and promote professionalism in collaboration with institutions and sectors of various ministries with a view to ensuring effective management and community participation in environmental conservation activities, Publishing and disseminating various environmental management guidelines aimed at managing environmental degradation, providing technical advice and supporting institutions and various institutions dealing with the management of natural resources and the environment, and Carrying out any other activities on the instructions of the Minister of Environment or as a result of the need during the implementation of the Environmental Management Act.The Council has four Directorates, eight sections, six units and 7 regional offices. It is good that when you receive information from good citizens about environmental degradation and take action sooner and later, it means that they are supporting what you are doing that helps them in the dangerous environment around them due to human-induced environmental degradation, it is better to protect our environment. Leaving NEMC is the best way to cooperate, I hope you are coming to the garage to ensure the ongoing burning of charcoal whose smoke affects people by filling peoples homes for about 3 weeks now. ask in the morning when you get there ask where they burn charcoal, please dont mention my name.
