I must disagree with the previous reviews on this accommodation. I stayed here in summer of 2013 at the request of a local Fat Man and it was utterly delightful. Firstly it was fantastic value for money, particularly when you compare it to other accommodation in the area such as the SeaCliff hotel which was in excess of $150 a night. The same ‘ladies of the night’ visited both venues in the same evening, so I struggle to see why anyone would pay the higher prices.I can only assume the previous reviewer had a bad meal as mine was splendid. It was served at about 4am, posted through the iron bars and was a wonderful combination of eggs holding together undercooked fried chips. The beer was a bit watered down, so much so I think it was literally unclean water, but otherwise I felt hugely satisfied after my feed.Sadly though this brings me onto my only criticism. The lavatories. Unlike the conventional toilets one might be used to, this was simply a grated drain in the corner. A small drain at that, so for the more prolific visitors this can be quite an issue as I duly witnessed. I was advised by the local bully to put his flip flops on in order to avoid contact with the overflowing excretion (they insist you leave your shoes at the door, which I thought was a nice touch). Frustratingly his foam slippers had absorbed what felt like a gallon of African urine which rendered them utterly useless and by this point my main focus was on keeping my balance.One further criticism is the check-in and check-out times. These were a little inflexible and could be improved.
