Really nice to just sit down, have a beer and do some reading /writing. Ill be visiting every time I pop by in Dar.They have a nice outdoors with sockets under the patio umbrellas where you can relax and do your writing. From there you can be served drinks. They also have a well stocked library for all your reading pleasures. Not to mention that its an excellent meeting place as well! The ultimate hangout for nerds 🤓

I love the atmosphere at Soma cafe, it is so chilled and relaxed. We attended a book fair and it was great. Lots of kids activities...(mine shouldnt have been bored if only he could leave my side *sigh*, oh well)... But most of all it has a good combination of books, from the classic (Alfu Lela holela) to the modern (thankfully didnt see any Dan Brown). The food was also reasonably priced (nyama chomas, not the expensive snacks). I take away because The sitting though wasnt as comfy and theres no signage to get there! Seriously, whats up with that!! Anyways great hangout place for the serious readers when u finally find the place.

Book store has a limited selection, but the patio is great for meet ups, reading, or working in a relatively relaxed atmosphere. They also have a good selection of local foods

Its a café situated at Regent Estate, and its in my neighborhood. Soma is a Swahili word which means read, so there a library in the café. Variety of drinks are available at reasonable prices, drinks like juices made from natural fruits. Theres also good food of different tastes. Occasionally, there are cultural events like music, exhibitions, painting shows, drum beating teachings etc. The whole atmosphere is friendly, discreet, surrounded by trees which provide cool breeze and assure a natural environment. In my opinion, Soma café is among the best place in Dar es Salaam to hang out and enjoy yourself with your friends or family.

Nice little place. Does not have many books though. For a library, they could do with more books and better bookcase and books arrangement.
