The tour guider was so informative. Luckily enough, it wasnt a crowded day so we had a lot of time to see each and every animal in the zoo. Guys, nature is amazingππThe trees around are cure and really treat diseases.
Is this the only zoo in Dar es salaam? Because it is so amazing. Guides are so informed and very educated. More than 20 animal species domestic and wild are available. They also have a special food programme that you can order a day before you go. Carry some biscuits the monkeys love them. Never seen an Eagle face to face but here a saw to a lady and a gentleman. Also saw a secretary bird see photos below.
A-bit far and i didnβt know cars were allowed inside the zoo so we were so tired walking. Good tour guides and the leopards were the highlight of the trip.
Too dry. Not well maintained. The animals were dying of thirst.I think the authorities should pay a visit and see to the wellbeing of the animals. Not worth the drive from Dar city. Will not recommend.
DAR ES SALAAM ZOO keeping Wild and Domestic animls for you to see all of them togetger in one place for a smoothly and cheap price than you can imagine. We have Experienceful tour guiders, ample car parking. You can also get Soft drinks and food within our Zoo. Play ground and swimming pools for kids, Ridding post (Camels, Horses and Donkey cart). Come watch, learn and enjoy with DAR ES SALAAM ZOO.
We are grateful to Dsm Zoo for still managing to run this place and give us a place to spend some relaxing time with family in such hard times of the pandemic , it surely gets tough to run such a huge place with such low ratio of visitors. The lions looked underfed . They seem to be the main attraction of the Zoo . A humble request to look into their feeding matter .Once again ,thank you and wish you the best .
Nice place for kids to see animals.. i would recommend to go there early since its very far
We had a nice time seeing the Zoo. The cages are clean and the animals are in food shape. The carnivores: lions, hyenas and leopards do not have good lives. There is zero stimulation in the cages for their imprisonment. We suggested some easy and cheap methods of entertainment, to aid in the relief of the depression of these animals. Simple dangling ropes, tires and toys are great, as well as hanging swings and bridges for climbing, are effective and easy ways to produce stimulation. The concrete floors these carnivores are subdued to live their lives on, are miserable. If they cannot leave the cages for a walk or to exercise their stiff bodies, why can they not have stimulation in the cage? The birds and small animals were well cared for. We were however concerned about the lack of water in some of the cages and suggested many times that it should be tend to.Please help to improve the circumstances for these carnivores, as this is not the life they should be living.
The dar es salaam zoo is nice place for recreational activities, studying and widening your experience base. There are lots of animals domestic animals and wild animals.they also have birds of manh kinds found on Africa. The zoo also has playing grounds and a swimming pool for the kids where by after your tour you can go and relax. The services are splendid ,they have good hospitality for all races.
Great zoo, though some animals are missing like elephants, giraffes etc
Disappointing. Animals seemed tired and unkept.the places needs cleaning and maintenance. Hardly alot to see. Most of the display cages were empty..
Nice to go back after some years. Needs more attention by the authorities to improve it
A county like Tanzania that has beautiful and vast planes of land for wild life , should not even entertain the idea of a zoo!!! Capturing and holding hostage animals for profit is inhumane , greed and immoral! These beautiful creature need to run chase free!!!Disgusting!
Visit Dar es Salaam Zoo, the only one Zoo I never seen before in Tanzania
Good but sad to see sad lions being like Not lions...if you know what I mean
It has a good range of animals. Would be nice if all the facilities are working like the mini theme park. Considering we were couples with their kids. Most things were said to be not working at the moment
It was very difficult to find the zoo for us .. Even though we went by taxi, the taxi driver could not even find the way ... Roads should be put plates ... The animals smelled. It would be cleaner if they washed once a week .. And the guide was accompanied when I didnt want a guide. We thought it was free. He wanted 10 thousand shillings. Δ°ts not a normal tip
Its a great place to visit With the kids
I was amazed ,not knowing that in Dar es salaam One could Easily see the Big Five Animals .Three of the Big Five are present and Easily seen at the Zoo.2lions and 7 Lioness,Three Leopards one a cub.Lots of other Animals,Birds,Collection of Antique from the Coastline of the Indian Ocean.Snakes and Much More.Good Swimming Pool and Children playing Ground Equipped with lot of Plays including Electric Train. Its A never miss Destination for All. Locals and Foreigners.Just Driving Distance from the City center crossing the Magagoni Ferry.
It is a nice place to visit this zoo but I request the management of the dar es Salaam zoo to keep the board at the outside of the main road entering inside the rough road. Please ask the authorities to make a tarmet road inside. It is very far from the kigamboni bridge to dar es Salaam zoo.
Place is good but the road is not in good condition which is connecting to Zoo and no road sign and even google map is also confusing many a times...I feel there were less number of animals this time compared to few years back
The place is very fine and very quite. Also they have very freindly team. They have many animals such as wild animals or others. Also the zoo its inside a forest and surrounded by trees everywhere. U can ride camels or horses. The only challenge is the way to reach the zoo location is to hard of u have a small car. Unpaved road.
I love this place they have a lot of animal with very good looking nature and I enjoyed a lot to play some games and riding horse also I wont forget the day I touched a lion cub. Men you should visit this beautiful and creative place with a lot of adventures dont forget to bring you wife and children because they wont forget how it fill to be their
It was a great day out for the whole family to enjoy. Its a massive place and it takes time to get around the zoo and have kids enjoy the rides + swimming, its best to get there early, to enjoy and chill out.The sign post from the bridge to the zoo should be visible to visitors showing direction to get to the zoo otherwise you can easily waste time try to find the place. The zoo is a bit far from the bridge. I also think for people who come for picnic, should be allowed to brong food as big familys spend hours there. There are no toilets close to the mosque which abit inconvinient. Otherwise thumbs upπ
Good day out especially the encounter with the lion cubs. Park is not stroller or wheelchair friendly though with most paths of loose sand. The animal enclosures could also be much improved.
Fantastic. We really enjoyed seeing almost all animals at a very cheap price. And the guides were very helpful. Guides are trained on scientific background of animals and their habitats.
The road to the zoo is not good and its long. Not many animals tho the people there are very nice. Guide knows the animals plus hes very friendly. We had a good time
COMBINATION OF MANY ACTIVITIES AND THINGS TO DO IN ONE PLACE, THEY HAVE A LOT OF ANIMALS LIKE YOU ARE IN NGORONGORO OR SERENGETI PARK, RESTAURANTS WITH SPICE FOODS, POOL, RIVER, GARDENS AND FORESTRY AWESOME VIEW MAKES THIS PARK TO BE REALY AMAIZING, ITS BETTER TO GO BY PRIVATE CAR, ENTRANCE FEE IS TZS 6,000 PP.
Wow! Such exquisite animals! Feels great to be able to meet the animals face to face apthough no interaction is needed for the safety for you and your children. Swimmin pool also available, which is fun for my brothers and sisters everytime we visit!
Paid too much and didnt even get to see all the animals...had to wait a long time just to hold the lion cub
This is indeed the best place to visit and see animals if one is unable to visit a park. Its well organised, very great customer care and such a place to spend your weekend with your family.
Well its a small zoo. Few animals are there. No giraffe, elephant, tiger are here.
Nice place to visit, but dont keep your expectations high as very few animals are around. Cages stink. Every visit you will see some animals are missing from your earlier visit. All in all, you can visit once.
The location is good, but customer care I have found very poor, and no tour guide. I enjoyed to see animals together with my family but customer care was poor and we didnt learnt much.
It is a great place for a weekend outing. A must, if you visit tanzania. The animals are very well kept and totally away from pollution. There are even camel rides!
A lot of different species of animals, beginning from curly doves and ending by giant tortoises and lions family. You can see also a small baobab. I liked a big family of baboons, lion and lioness, leopard, camel, big and small tortoises, and especially ostriches, which you can feed.
It is a nice place for enjoying with the family also it has a lot of animals so from there you can learn a lotAlso it has a good swimming poolAnimals found there are (note i was there 2010)Hyena, lion, zebra, camel, donkey and monkey
Is a nice place you can see and learn alot about wild animals and birds
Run down now... Only thing possitive is that they have around 7 lions and couple of leopards... No elephant or Giraffe
Not bad experience. Get to do camel and horse riding. Shame about how they keep some of the lions but I could assume otherwise the lion Would not be alive.
Quite a few animals, lovely play ground and pool. My daughter got to feed the monkeys and the bathrooms were clean.
Its a place where you can enjoy with family and friends, various species of wild animals available for display, animal rides, water and theme parks for entertainment all for affordable price.
I loved the place, visited with my family. We made the best moments here. I recommend it for a family day out.
Work here somedays ago
Well kept zoo, alot of animals to see. Its very big make sure you wear comfortable shoes for the walk around
At a distance from dar es salaam. You take a ferry and available 24 hrs and zoo is 27 kms away. Tzs 6,000 entrance fee.
Nice place for kids to see the animals and swim in the pool also.. few things to improve #Map of zoo #Food #Roads etc
Though most of the animals were out for 8/8 , more investment need to be done on the surroundings. The fees are to expensive for what it offers currently.
Nice place to be, nice people. But I didnt like the way how they are treating the animals in the zoo πππ
Lions n buffalos, birds, monkeys of various types are found and many more animals. Its one big zoo
Very good live entertainment of animals
Great place to go with the family. You can see a variety of animals and relax and watch a beautiful sunset.
Apart from animals, other services like food are very poor. Its not a good point for relaxation, only for learning
The visit was very good, and informative to the children.Need to see more animals in the next visit.
Located in the outskirts of Dar es salaam city center. Found in Kibada, Kigamboni. A large zoo with numerous species of animals and birds
Cool place, I got a very close photos with dangerous animals.this made my memory great
Very nice place to visit. Not far from Dar es salaam. Kids will love this place.
Many animals were there before but not so many now. Ostriches are in large numbers as of now.
Great family day out. Lots of animals and a mini fun park and pool area.
