We stayed one week at Kamanda and enjoyed it most of the time. The house was beautiful- such thoughtful interior design and very clean. Emanuel & his wife were very kind and helped us with nearly everything. Also we could reach Jennifer the Host very quickly.Also try the „Maalum Naturepool“ - you will get a discount. Just a hidden gem that belongs to the accommodation.The beds were cozy & we had warm showers. Wifi was okay - too slow for working.-1 Star ⭐️ because the house was quite out of town (30min walk) and the nights were even though very loud & busy (noisy motorbikes started in front of the house every minute!!)Also it was a bit difficulty with the room service because they cleaned in the morning where we had to prepare stuff to leave for the day trips. So we had to wait outside until they’re ready & couldn’t leave in time.Last thing: the water wasn’t running 3 or 4 times so we couldn’t use the sanitaries. But they fixed it quite fast. 🔧

We stayed at Kamanda House for 2 weeks and we felt very comfortable. A small, cozy oasis in the middle of the village, not far from the beach and Paje with a great hostess and her staff.We enjoyed it very much.

My first experience in Africa has started at KAMANDA HOUSE, in a very authentic way, because inside the property lives Ema, a Masai boy, who takes care of the garden and the house, as well as trying not to miss them. nothing to the guests. He speaks good English and is kind and respectful. The exchange of cultures is very interesting.I found its location very convenient in the traditional village of BWEJUU, 10-15 minutes walk from PAJE (most tourist village where I bought mangoes, nuts and what I liked), and 5 minutes walk from the beach, by a straight path that has no loss.The house itself has all the comforts, as if it were a hotel, but exclusively, without sharing community spaces.The ground floor room, which is where I slept, has plenty of space. It has a very large double bed (with an elegant white mosquito net); two fans that are enough to be able to sleep cool; toilet with large shower (soaps smell really good!); office space with fridge (although I didnt cook there); work bench / sofa with comfortable cushions. And all tastefully decorated, combining the colors of the sheets, pillows and lamp (imported from Europe) with typical African motifs of the territory.I didnt use the first floor room, but I thought it was very nice and well decorated, with a large double bed and two raised cots.What I did use every afternoon was the rooftop area on the first floor, to observe the local daily life (motorcycles, bikes, cows, children playing ...) while I drank a passion juice that I prepared the Katy in the morning, for breakfast.The chill out area, with the fire at night (typical of the area) is really cozy, with such green plants in the garden, good company and a drink or to look at the stars ...And the dining area, outdoors and perfectly equipped with awning and a fan, with a large table. I had breakfast and dinner there every day!What I found very comfortable is being able to hire breakfast and dinner service in the house, choosing what I wanted to eat because the house has a kitchen with fridge, coffee maker and all the utensils for cooking and eating. And one day I bought what I liked and they prepared it for me.Spectacular oil-free salads! They put lime in it and are refreshing and very good.(Although there is oil in the house too).The cleaning is daily and very good.I can’t finish without talking about the hosts. Cristina, Carlos and Jennifer. Both are true professionals in the sector. They made sure I didnt miss anything, they provided me with transfers (taxi drivers) and proposed and hired excursions.A 10 at the KAMANDA HOUSE.A 10 in the service.A 10 in Zanzibar.Therefore, 100% recommended without a doubt.Next year I will be back for sure, but with the children !!!!
