The pool is beautiful and surrounded by lots of green. There is a nice little playground with swings and the place brims with a certain feeling of adventure. The food in the restaurant was OK. The placemats definitely should just be tossed in the bin, I dont see how they can be cleaned

Very cozy place but could use some renovations in the rooms. Our first room was right next to the restaurant/bar and as there are no windows (only mosquito nets) we could hear everything from the bar. We asked if they had any other available room and fortunately the very polite manager(?) let us change rooms.Next room was very dark and there was a lot of bugs everywhere (could even hear them crawling in the walls).WiFi coverage is quite poor.Food was good and it was a very nice atmosphere.

Pool is nice and atmosphere in general but NEVER book any trips with them. Totally amateurish snorkeling trips for example. You see only sand because they will not guide you in any way. Theres not even drinking water on board or shade because its basic fishing boat you see in local restaurants as a tables in which I think they are in their best but not in the open water. My worst worst snorkeling experience this far. Just zero points and one more bad Zanzibar example.

Booked the place for ten days - stayed for 7. Nice place 100 meters from the beach which means it’s HOT. Really hot as it gets no breeze from the sea. The rooms are nice and clean but could need air condition. The place itself has a great pool and lovely staff.The big downside and the reason for only two stars on this rating is the waiting time. I know this is Africa but on average we waited 1.5 hours for food on every single meal we had. In my opinion that’s just not good enough and should be improved. Especially when you bring kids this doesn’t work at all.So even though the staff is nice, the place very relaxing and the rooms clean I would look for something else next time.

Nice place to relax. Natural buildings. Very nice swimming pool. Most of the staff is friendly. Only down for me, the included breakfast has not enough variety. It will befruits,fruit juice and 2 eggs or omelet with chapati or toasts, everyday.

Had a look, decided not to stay. A short walk up from a beautiful beach. Has a rasta vibe, eclectic accomodation. Staff was helpful and friendly. Pool was surrounded by lovely trees, had an outdoor shower and toilet right next to it. Have a restaurant and bar, average prices. We were looking for a more tranquil place.

For sure one of the nicest places in Zanzibar. You feel like in paradise once you step foot into mustaphas place! Not much luxury but the rooms are totally fine. The garden is full of flowers and all sorts of trees and creates a beautiful atmosphere all over the place. Very friendly staff and fresh sea food every day make your stay just perfect! Really recommending to stay here!!

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a great stay.If you are looking for a beautiful, laid back place with a local feeling to it...this is the place to be! It has the vibe of a backpackers to it but some of the rooms had the comfort of your own bathroomFood and drinks was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Beach was 1min walk and beautiful.

Wonderful place: a quiet oasis that breathes rastafari in the best possible way: extremely friendly and hospitable people, sparkling clean, very well organized, palm trees, beautiful pool, charming wooden houses / rooms. All locally owned & managed. Recommended!

Best place to forget every worry about the world and chill. quiet, cozy. peaceful and beautiful ambience, loaded with fresh food and drinks, you never go starving , can feed two more people as they have huge portion size. walkable to the beach. clean swimming pool and good massage centre within. small one but the lady is amazingly inspiring .. Must visit ..

Very local atmosfere

+ Location was great, pool was great, bungalow was great and the hotel area itself was great. Prices of food were a quite touristy, but food was good. All in all very nice place to stay while visiting east Sansibar.- Wifi was working only nearby the reception/restaurant area and it usually took even more than 1 hour to get the food we ordered, but those things were propably the only frustrating ones during our stay.

Amazing place, nice laid back and chill vibes, they have a pool which is a touch on the small side for swimming lengths but its great for kids or to lie back and chill. Beautiful place right opposite the beach, cant recommend this place enough for the price

Its a fantastic place to spend your holiday waking up hearing amazing sounds of palm trees and lovely wind (fresh air) a great view of the sea. And kind people who welcome you with love.

A nice,serene and good resting/relaxing location to be. I will always remember Mustaphas place for professional staff and excellent services, hospitality and place to rest as needed. Nice cool music to enjoy and swimming pool to freshen up yourself at all times. Visiting this place makes and encourages you appreciate nature and why we should also be custodian of the environment. We wanted to order a food but it was more expensive then we expected.Pros: Realy nice rooftop places, good ice coffeeNeg: high prices, we received water in their glass bottle. We hope that it was bottle water and not supply water.

A very cosy place to relax and spend sometime on the beach.The set up is great and gives you the jungle perception.It deserves a night to try, wont regret it.

Great corner for quiet dining in a calming atmosphere. The staff is friendly, the food is good for not too expensive and it is possible to enjoy the hours of the place if you are for example between friends (around the fire for example). I recommend this place

We spent 8 nights in a group of 8 young people. Everything has been amazing! I highly recommend Mustaphas place.Alessandra, who is the manager for reservations, has always been available upstream to answer our questions and reassure us.Then when we arrived the transfer is made by people who work with the lodge and helped us, transported throughout the stay! King and Boyka were very caring during our excursions and all our transport, we will keep fond memories of them.The hotel team were also extremely kind!The lodge is well run and very clean. The rooms are comfortable, cleaning is done every day.The food is very good, no complaints.You live barefoot in the sand, among tropical trees. Then the pool is magnificent!The only negative point I could point out is the breakfast. A portion of fresh fruit, a fresh fruit juice and an omelet, this is not an all-you-can-eat buffet and the coffee is extra but apart from this detail everything was perfect!The beach is 50 meters away, it is difficult to swim, the tides are very variable. Sometimes she withdraws for 1km. There are seaweed cultures and quite a few sea urchins. The beach is prettier further south towards Paje.If you want a traditional lodge, well located, clean, with a great staff, I suggest you come to Mustaphas Place.We all shed a tear when we left this corner of paradise.Thank you again to all for an unforgettable stay!

Sensational, unique. You live in stylishly furnished bungalows, surrounded by jungle-like plants. As soon as you leave the room, you stand on sand. Very good breakfast. The staff is courteous, friendly and personable. Mustapha himself is a great host, you feel like youve been friends for a long time. You can book tours through Mustapha, this is unbureaucratic and cheap compared to self-organized tours. The beach is just a few steps away. If the tide is low, no problem, in the clean, large pool in the Mustaphas Place complex you can just as easily cool off in these cases. Thank you very much for the great time, well be back! Wonderful place. Great to vacation with small children at affordable prices. The staff is very friendly, especially to the children. There is a nice pool. The food is delicious. Across the street is the beach with white, powdery sand. If you want to escape the seagrass, you have to walk about one and a half to two kilometers. On the beach there are numerous hotels, where you get a snack and drinks for lunch, of course you can also have dinner there.

We stopped at Mustapha to just eat a bite. The place is frankly very pretty, sported, decorated and shaded. The reception was nice, without more. We ate properly without being transcended for a normal price on the island.

Totally ok hotel with very nice atmosphere. Short distance to the beach, nice pool without restrictions such as. opening hours. In the restaurant you have to wait a long time and you have to endure if you are going to eat here. The food is good enough. Sometimes the waitresses forget that you ordered a country drink and you have to remind them that. There are a lot of mosquitos here, so you have to bring mosquito spray, lots of mosquito spray. We used different means against mosquitoes, but the ones you spray on you work best. Just use a lot of it before you go to bed at night.

Very nice location, a little away from paje ... a scooter is recommended to rent for mobility, but taxis are also not expensive ...room extremely clean and nice, nice swimming pool.The food is delicious and fresh, but you can sometimes wait a long time.
