We had a great stay at Tembea Mara. Aysha was lovely and really helpful with local advice and transport. We’re vegan and really enjoyed the rice and curry prepared by the kitchen. The food was delicious and beautifully presented! The rooms are really cute with a nice style and situated among the trees. The location is great as it’s a 10min walk from the town and back from the main road. It’s also right outside the DDH bus stop. And about a 20min drive to the Ndabaka Gate entrance to Serengeti.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Aisha makes the most wonderful food. Be sure to have the pizza and vegetarian chapati wraps. Everything is fresh and made with love. I travelled with a group doing the Serengeti Marathon and the location of this hotel is perfect. Near the start but not inside the park. Very affordable but quality is top notch. The place has beautiful sunsets since it’s up on a hill, lovely green spaces and it’s designed to make you feel at home. I would gladly visit this place again and next time I would like more time for a short hike up the hill for even better views.

Tembea Mara is an absolute gem in Bunda, right next to the mountain it gives a super chill vibe. You are close to nature yet still have a very comfortable room and lovely relaxing area. Aisha, the owner is very kind and helpful. The food is DELICIOUS!

Very nice place to stay, we camped for two nights. Super lovely people and hosts, the food is amazing with extensive breakfasts and there is a nice walk to the mountain where you get a nice view over the villages and serengeti. Would recommend to stay here!

If you are in the area, you should definitely visit this place! We came here accidentally and it’s like visiting an art exhibition!There are so many beautiful details everywhere, the owner is warm-hearted and welcoming and the nature around is stunning!

Tembea Mara is a hidden gem. The rooms are clean, beautiful and you can see the stylish touch of Aisha (the owner) in every detail. The breakfast is fresh and very tasty, if you are lucky you can observe monkeys while having your morning coffee. I will definitely be back and would recommend Tembea Mara to everyone!

Very nice. We camped here one night after visiting Serengeti (it is close to the western Gate). We had lunch and dinner, food is fresh and homemade and really good. Good pizza. Very friendly owners. Nice atmosphere. Possible to walk to the top of the mountain to enjoy sunset on the lake Victoria.

This hotel was amazing! The service was very good, best food that we’ve tried in that local area. The location also very good, really close to the gate to enter the safari in Serengeti. We also did the tour to Lake Victoria with them and it was the best experience, we saw the real Africa and were able to help the children and the village people. Totally recommend staying there.

Youssef and his wife were the perfect hosts, endlessly concerned with how my September, 2019 stay was. The food was delicious and the location is quiet and tranquil, perched on the side of a mountain. Greater Bunda is at the foot of the mountain so access was very easy. Tembea Mara offers camping spots for those with tents, and solid, well built and comfortable bungalows for the rest of us. The Serengeti is just to the south for easy access. If you are planning a trip to the Lakes district of western Tanzania, book into Tembea Mara. If your experience is half as good as mine, youll be delighted.

Very cute and quaint campground right near the Serengeti. Excellent and clean facilities and the owners were very welcoming and friendly. There is wildlife surrounding the camp and inside - baboons, velvet monkeys etc. great location to the Serengeti. Would highly recommend.

Balili Village is a lovely slice of paradise, perfect for those who are traveling to the Serengeti or Lake Victoria region. Just a wonderful stay with the most pleasant Host I ever met. Arrived very tired and stressed and left with my batteries charged again. A perfect place to escape from the busyness of Life, to relax, hike to Balili mountain, visit the town bunda and just to be. Asante Sana

I am currently working in Busega and Bunda district and Balili village became my local home. Aisha and Youssuf are incredible hosts and created a great relaxing atmosphere...And to be honest, the kitchen is great!!!West side of Serengeti?They are the best.Asanteni Sana!!!

Had an absolutely lovely stay. The hosts are welcoming and kind, and the room was great. If you end up staying for a meal, I recommend the chicken pizza!

Great restaurant. This place has very nice burgers. We have only stopped by for lunch a few times since we live relatively close, but they are worth a stop.

Hip hotel at the foot of the Balili mountain in Bunda. Located in beautiful nature, where you can also camp. Tough hike of one hour to the top of the mountain. The food is fantastic, best so far in Tanzania. Unknown place just 10 minutes from western Serengeti gate. They also organize safaris themselves.
