My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while we were volunteering in Arusha. Ally and Norina were absolutely amazing. They were very kind, helpful, and attentive to any needs we had. The hostel is located in a great spot in town. It was very clean with a bunch of great spots to hangout (chill room, tiki bar, and the swings); just an overall fun atmosphere. But my favorite part was Allys pups Charlie and Diamond. In addition to this being a great hostel; they also give back to the community. 40% of the proceeds go to helping women and children development as well as well as helping creating childrens basketball teams .
I’ve been staying here for the last couple weeks and I quite enjoy it. Ally is a great host and I like the space. Very local but isolated at the same time.
Ally (the manager) is nice and polite, as well as the common room. However, rooms are extremely untidy and abandoned. There is humidity on the walls (painting is falling all over), the plugs are falling down too from the walls (impossible to plug anything), the rooms are extremely small (you cant even open your bag), the bath is very dirty and there is even mold on the shower head and controls. Once we saw it, we decided to change immediately and go somewhere else. It seems that most safari agencies have an agreement with this place, so if you can avoid staying, is without any doubt your best decision.I read the other reviews, and they seem to be just about the safaris, not about the place, or written by friends or tour operators. This it not a place to stay, a total loss of money. They really need to take care of the cleaning up of the rooms. Likewise, bedsheets are not white colour, so any guarantee of being cleaned regularly.
We booked a safari trip with We Are One Hostel and it was the best trip EVER. We were so lucky with our guide Joel. He did everything he could to find the animals and was clearly passionate about his job. You could tell other safari cars were jealous ;-). His friend and our coock, called Mister D(elicious) by Joel made us incredibly good food! His real name is Samuel, but we understood immediately where the name mister D came from ;-). I would definitely recommend to book a safari here, and please ask for their names, they will make the experience 100 times better! Still smiling when looking back to this adventure! Thank you guys! Well see each other again some time!
The best hostel in town, your home away from home!On top of that, Ally (the owner) can arrange everything from safari to a good recommendation of a cafe of restaurant. Very passionate people and a loving vibe!I highly recommend! As a bonus, Ally is supporting his mother’s (mamma Hindu) NGO
Brilliant place to stay, very welcoming and friendly and amazing to take me around all the local places and arranged my safari! The hostel was spotlessly clean, with private toilet and shower which was a bonus, really good location close to the city centre
Perfectly located hostel, only a few walking minutes to city centre. had a great stay and will definitely come back!

I had great time and nostalgic mood at night
It’s 10 minutes walk away from the city center . Best view from the top of the hostel
Stayed here for four weeks because we liked it so much. The hostel is very cozy, everything is clean, the hostels mom cleans the room immediately after you ask her, if you want to know anything, theyll help you right away. Everything is easy to reach from the hostel, within walking distance, with pikipiki or tuk tuk. The view is terrific on Mount Meru. Conclusion: Highly recommended if you want to get to know the authentic aruscha surrounded by nice people. We would come back anytime.
